The problem is you are stating your opinion as fact. When it is just that an opinion.

its all just opinion that has been established early on in message board history.the real problem is you don't like it. Boston rated lower than bene. Boston taken before bene.that's a mistake.

Clearly the Panthers rated Boston higher than Bene, hence they picked him before. Clearly they didn't expect Bene to slide like that so they traded up for him and were validated by his play on the football field.

The fact is that you DON'T know for a fact that Boston would be there in the 5th. Only way you would know that is to see other teams draft boards.

Your argument is based on hind sight, which is silly because at the time most people on this board didn't know about Bene and were crying about no OT being picked. Same for many in the media. It's easy to say now, "pick Bene in the 4th" based on his play but if we did at the time, many people like you would be crying about Gettleman reaching.

the fact is this thread is based on hindsight. My response the same from the moment Boston was picked.I am not the only one and that is a matter of public record on this board.bene was rated higher so there wouldn't be much argument either way that does not change the fact he reached for Boston. Now to dude who said gman had Boston higher lol.again not genius.

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
