The jury is still out on whether Tannehill and Cam can reach elite status, but both are largely considered solid enough QBs. Of course Cam has a huge edge in rushing which probably tip the scales in his favor, but I don't get people trying to use him as a comparison for Cam in the sense that he is heads and shoulders above him from a statistical point. The main difference from what I can see is that the Dolphins fan base as a whole is more accepting and appreciative of Tannehill than Panthers fans are with Cam.

What are you talking about? Cam had three pass catching options, two of which are far better than Tannehill's. Tannehill had the worse oline. Stewart rushed for 809yds so maybe they had the better RB but he has a better supporting cast?

Hartline is a solid receiver as well. He has put up two thousand yard seasons to support Tannehill.

I refused to call Cotchery anything but a dollars store player.. So no he wasn't reliable pass catching options. .

And Stewart was hurt and miss games this season.. So Cam really never had him until the last 5 weeks of the season. .

So like I said most of the season

Tanniehill had 3 reliable pass catching options and a 1,000 yard back. . Cam didn't. .

It was a stunning non-admission. Given the chance to simply state Tannehill was the starter, Philbin talked multiple times about getting the "best 46 players" ready to play this week and going from there. The reason I asked is because it's kind of curious for the head coach to want to bench someone and not do it. Hell, the buck stops with him. Of course we are talking about Joe Philbin.

Ok , the fans were somewhat split on Tannehill before the end of the season, but Tannehill had a decent season all things considered. It would be I there sting to see how he fares in polls now. One thing about it, the media seems more supportive, and football experts are not as down on him as some of the fan base (kind if like Cam). The thing is, Cam is considered the more talented guy who just may bring it all together with better weapons (and that ain't got jack squat to do with Tannehill). Even Bill Polian is coming around. And almost 100 percent of everyone and their mama says Cam needs better weapons, so I don't see arguing that he doesn't.

Also don't forget to mention that the Dolphins went out and signed the best tackle in free agency last year in Branden Albert and followed that up by drafting another stud tackle in the first. Would be nice to see this team get serious about protecting their quarterback.

No one wishing we do well as a team is against Cam getting more weapons. No one in this thread has said not to get Cam more weapons. What I have said is that he has been outperformed by some of his peers with lesser supporting talent and thus some of the issues he has cannot be attributed to a lack of a talented supporting cast alone. Nothing more.

I will say it again, there was virtually zero threads or even posts on the Dolphins message board even mentioning Tannehill the week he laid a massive egg against the Bills preventing the Dolphins from getting to the playoffs. The exact same week the Huddle's front page was littered with threads (forget posts) criticizing Newton for not throwing the perfect pass to defeat the Saints and clinch the playoffs.

Albert was playing at an all-pro level before he tore both his MCL and ACL. Remember last night when you couldn't count 2014 when comparing the rushing attacks of the Bengals and Panthers because of injury? And lol at our strategy "proving better" than theirs. As far as I know they actually have two very promising tackles on either side of their line in Albert and James going into this season. Carolina has neither.
