I'm gonna guess you didn't even read the blurb....

The NFL dropped the lawsuit against the DA, because the DA agreed to cooperate and share photos with the NFL so they could determine whether or not a further suspension is warranted.

Jesus you people cry and nitpick over everything so I forgot to put Hardy and the DA. The link includes Hardys name as well in the topic

NFL Drops Lawsuit Over Greg Hardy DV Evidence

The text...

The NFL has dropped its lawsuit against the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office.  The league sued to get access to evidence in the Greg Hardy domestic violence case.  WCCB Charlotte first told you last week that both sides worked out a deal.

As part of the deal, the DA's office let the league look at seven photos used as evidence in Hardy's bench trial.  The NFL sued to get access to the photos, which show injuries to the former Panther's ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder.

The NFL is trying to determine whether to punish Hardy for violating its personal conduct policy.

The suit was against the DA's office over the Hardy evidence.  Hardy himself was not involved in the action.

You are correct that he could still be suspended.  It could be argued that their obtaining these pictures makes that more likely.
