Rick Spielman Wants To Trade With Us (And Everyone Else)

If I were the Vikings, I would be stupid to take that deal. From our end, it would be heaven. Amari Cooper is easily the "Andrew Luck" of wide receivers. That is to say a once every 10 years type of player. Given G-man's talent of finding quality guys in the first few rounds and undrafted free agents, I would easily give up those late round picks. We would still have a total of six picks, which is one pick shy of a given draft. I would make that trade in a micro second on our end.

And that right there is the problem. Anyone who thinks that Cooper is on the board at 11 is Cra Cra! Even if teams went full retard and didn't pick him until 11, do u really think the Vikes still make that trade with a young Teddy Bridgewater needing a reciever?

Y'all get so wrapped up in hypotheticals that you fail to look objectively at the whole situation. No bueno

Of course I agree the Vikings would take him if he did fall there.  I was just highlighting the part in the OP that Spielman loves the late round picks haha.  I would give him all our late round picks for Coop.

It's an overly one sided, unrealistic trade

God the Vikings are fugin stupid

They took Christian Ponder @12. Funny thing is there are "worse" GMs, but those will occasionally get top 3 picks (ie Hurney). So what's really "worse"? Vikings I say. Most tormented franchise in the league IMHO.

Well I think it's funny that Gettleman has gotten good return on undrafted free agents. In contrast Spielman wants those late round picks to avoid competing in undrafted free agency. Maybe being located in Minnesota is a disadvantage for him with those guys.

In the interview he referenced the Benwikere trade indirectly saying (paraphrased) 'Some teams want to go up and get a guy they like. I rather pick several guys and hopefully a couple of them work out, to me it's worth the risk' .

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
