The Defensive Switch

So we look awful in the preseason as a defense up to this point right? Well we arnt showing all of our fronts but thats no excuse as to how bad we are looking... But im very optimistic about this defense. Lets take a look back to the Giants Super bowl season. They went through a defensive change with a new cordinator. The preseason made them look like the worst defense in the league, Im mean we beat the hell out of them in the preseason, we ran up and down there throats. They started out 0-2 in some big blowouts, well they finally believed in the scheme being preached got there act together and became one of the best front sevens ever to win a superbowl. Do we have the same pieces on the dline that giants did? Only time will tell but I think this defense is going to surprise alot of people.

I think /hope that we are only hiding things from our future opponents. surprise attack if you will. now that we have attempted to some what fill the big gap kemo left open, we will only improve from here. Also, Beason not playing is like taking out our QB, on defense, once he is healthy its own like donkey Kong.

Yeah, it's true that they're not showing everything, but it's still gonna take a minute for them to master the new schemes. I do believe the pass coverage and the tackling will get better, but the question is how long will it take? They can't afford to dig themselves into a big hole early in the season, because they will be facing a legitimate play off contender just about every week.

Bottom line...I really and truly have no idea what to expect from the Panthers this year.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard

That is a quote I got from Gman. But I am glad other people are starting to think the same thing I was, that maybe we are playing coy with the defense this year. I guess we will all find out Sept 13.

    • Two things: 1. Dr. Eric Eager is central to the draft process 2. I know that it was edited, but we didn't hear "Thieneman" one time, not even before the Vikings pick.
    • Why would he sign here as a guard when surely someone would sign him as a tackle?  Assuming he is healthy
    • Went back to watching the highlights. With a sober mind haha. Here is what I saw.    freddie needs to make 1 of those but the rest aren’t on him.    Slavin was BBBBAAAD again last night. Not sure what is going on with these game one Slavin gafs.    miller was ok but had his worst game in the playoffs so far.    nikishin was no good. His his awful turnover led to the first goal at the end of the first period that just can’t happen. ghost was beat like a drum multiple times last night, including the go-ahead goal at the end jarivs wont shoot. He is either hurt or he is struggling mentally and I think it could be a combination of both. He passed up a wide open net on the power-play only to pass it to no one and cleared it himself.     Svech played well. He is getting zero help on that line.    aho. Worst game as a pro. I mean that. He won’t shoot it, passes go to no one and turns it over repeatedly.  He did exactly what they did against Montreal game one when Miller had a turnover. Aho left his man to go help and left the golden Knight player wide open in front of Freddie.  If I was Rod, you Tell Aho when that thing hits your stick you fire it  someone needs to sit him down just him in a room and ask what’s going on. He seems soft, timid and has zero fire.   canes could have won that game   There isn’t a gap between these two teams  they are dead even   Carter Hart’s gonna get lit up in this series. We can beat that guy. the consensus last night was our defense played horrible and our stars won’t score.  clean the defense up. Tell the top line to shoot it everything and we’ll win tomorrow night.   Possibly convincingly.
