Hornets Uniform Unveiling

I thought I heard from somewhere that this was going to be a "pride" jersey, typically they are sleeved with some combination of old styling and new styling.

So yeah, a major component of those old uniforms was the pinstripes.  I imagine there will be pinstripes and maybe the return of the old serif font.

It's gonna be a black jersey that says Buzz City or perhaps Queen City. Which is pretty terrible, IMO. It's listed under the "Pride" section by the NBA, which means it's a jersey designed around homage to the team's city. And on the Chris Creamer sports logo forum I saw a sheet with all new NBA logo changes for 15-16 and it showed 3 of the current Hornets logos with black outlines added. The new logos are nice and the court is IMO the best in the NBA and better than any original Hornets court. But they've really screwed up with the uniforms and Hugo logo. They should've touched up the original Hugo logo, similar to the Panthers update, and also stuck with s modern version of the original uniforms. With MJ I'm pretty sure they'll constantly change and add new uniforms. I'd rather they had done it right the first time and just left it alone.

I'd much rather it say "QC" or "Queen City" than "Buzz City." So, you know what that means.

    • Good read and stuff under it is not bad either. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-cb-jaycee-horn-says-184519429.html
    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
