We make mistakes when we allow money and emotions get involved. We need to provide a window for his return--not one surrounded by a mansion. They are paid a lot because of the risks and brevity of their careers. The best GMs know when to part with players, even fan favorites. -

Yeah, I'm all for trying to figure out a way for him to contribute on D even situationally. His physical tools are undeniable. I'm generally against carrying core ST guys on the roster unless they're real difference makers on STs and he sure looked like one against the Rams. I mean, we carried Karl Hankton on the roster as a "wide receiver" for nearly a decade and the guy barely ever saw the field on offense in his rostered role. But hey, if you're out there blocking punts and blowing up return men on the regular I can accommodate that on my roster. -

Yup When you look at EPA, it really does speak to what we’ve all had to watch. Mad inconsistent and the only consistency has been he’s way low in EPA per drop. It’s technically been trending up, but his career average is -.13 and that’s after this season helped bring it up haha. 24th in EPA/CPOE composite. The eye test and the composite are pretty closely aligned, really need some improvement at a consistent basis. People may be happy how he did in the WC round, but the whole nation saw that 49ers game not long ago (well until they just turned it off haha). Not long ago at all and was of his worst stinkers.
