Panthers Marketing Survey for Dissertation

I don't know what NFL stadiums you have been to Gayman, but i feel sure i've been to more than you and all of them had a pregame prayer.

I feel sure, after reading some of your posts you are not a christian, and that is your choice, but thankfully this is still a christian nation, and as such prayers are not only accepted as normal, but welcomed at sporting events, whether you like it or not,

You should try praying sometime, perhaps it would change your lifestyle, and give you a more positive outlook, not only toward the Panthers, but life in general.

Now don't come back and tell a lie,by saying you are satisified with the way you are now.Your mouth would only say one thing, but your actions on the Huddle forum say something to the contrary.

LOL! You see that is why I would never in a million years consider being a christian. You people are so condesending. You think only christians live happy lives and everyone else is miserable and angry. LOL! Keep telling yourself that if that really gives you some sort of comfort. Yes, Im a very happy person who is very negative about the panthers inconsistency. If you think praying is going to change my view on the panthers then I guess I should do that. Maybe Ill get lucky and god will have John Fox fired. Only then would I beleive in "Jesus". :D

Prayer is a reflection of our souls and yes I'm a Christian but I'm not going to force my beliefs on anyone...if you don't agree with any type of prayer at a sporting event thats fine...go ahead and text or daydream while that is happening...whatever....but we Christians have a right to pray just like Atheists have a right to not believe.....I don't understand what the big deal is.

Yes, you do have a right to pray. You can do it in church, you can do it at home, you can do it at a resturant before you eat you can do it wherever. You can do it before the game privately in your seat at the stadium. You should be able to do it when it doesnt effect everyone else around you. When I pay money to go to a sporting event I shouldnt have to deal with being asked to stand up and honor something that I dont care about nor beleive in. If the panthers told everyone to stand up for a muslim or a hindu prayer you know damn well you would be pissed and would be complaining! So try looking at it from other peoples view point as well.

Thats right and I respect your view....as a Christian if someone told me to stand up for a muslim or a hindu prayer I would just remain seated....you have that right...I would not be pissed or complain; I would 'go with the flow.'

The bottom line is that we are all at BOFA to watch the Panthers kick somebodys azz....I don't wanna talk about your political views or what your favorite movie is or how people should act.....I'm there to watch a game and if that means saluting the flag or praising a junebug, I just want to see the Panthers do good. :D

Hello everyone, (Mods sorry if its the wrong forum, but it seems the most relevant forum for this thread, if its wrong please help me place it properly)

If you've got a few minutes, I'm doing an MBA research thesis (wrong thread title) on the Panthers Marketing department (which does extend to things like the "family atmosphere" in the stadium and the pro's and con's that come with it).

It's one rating question, and 4 opinion questions, below. If you want your opinion included in an academic case study and have the time, please just copy/paste the text and fill in your answers. All results remain completely anonymous. Thanks so much!

Not true at all! I went to Atlanta last year and the year before and there was no pregame prayer. I went to Washington several years ago and there was no prayer when I went. I went to Green Bay last year too and there was no prayer. I hear visiting fans say all the time that they have never heard of a pregame prayer at a sporting event until they came to BOA stadium. Pre game prayers are not a league wide thing like you seem to be suggesting.

You missed my point entirely. Many of the people in the stands come from different faiths or may be athiest/agnostic or whatever. How would you feel if you were expected to honor a prayer of a faith you didnt beleive in or had to deal with people giving you dirty looks if you didnt? Look at it from through their point of view. It is totally inappropriate to force religion down everyones throat just because the majority may be christian. I already dont participate. I usually sit down and read my program after I spent the first three seconds noticing how empty the stadium is. I have been harrassed on two occasions by people telling me I should stand and both times I told them to mind their own business. The fact is Jerry Richardson is forcing his faith down our throats because he is a christian. Yes, I have heard of them doing pregame prayers at the speed way and at the old hornet games. Charlotte is a bible thumping town, so I guess they assume the whole town is christian. Couldnt be further from the truth.

As far as politics, Republicans are all rednecks. That is all!:D

First off Gayman, i doubt you have ever been out of your ma's basement or you wouldn't be such a critical pr*ck. No one,i mean NO ONE is forcing you to take part in the prayer. If you were harrassed at the game,as you imply, it was probably because you were busy counting fans of opposing teams, while making a fool of yourself, so you could come here and make a negative report.

I doubt very seriously if you have ever been to the BOA Stadium. If you have, and all you can do is criticize the owner, players, and protocol you should keep your Gay Azz away, the Panthers would be better off without bandwaggon azzholes like you.If you set in the same section with me i would probably wind up kicking your spineless azz,or slapping the dog sh*t out of you.

Get riid of the pregame prayer,no way! Gayman, you must be an atheist,or else a screwed up little person, probably both. That would account for some of your way out and strange actions.

They may not say prayers at the local gay bar you frequent

,but don't expect that to be the case at NFL games.

I've been to NFL games in Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, New York and Pittsburg and I've never heard of pregame prayer. That said it wouldn't bother me, but it is wierd. And who cares if he's an atheist. This is a football forum for crissake, don't get your panties in a bunch just because someone doesn't share your religious beliefs.

I think this survey is missing two things.

Ticket prices and Wins.

pstall, you're right except that my thesis is very specific, looking at fan motives in such a way that on-field success is almost irrelevant. the focus involves the idea that truly loyal "diehard" fans attend games and support the team even when the team is losing, and there are effective marketing methods to increase this sort of behavior amongst fans...ticket prices is more relevant, but fans can show support in many other ways (through merchandise sales, watching on TV, etc.)

Flying Lion...I'm living/studying in London, so my thesis requires UK spelling (which means "organisation" instead of "organization", or "behaviour" instead of "behavior")...but I should have recalled that my survey is speaking to Americans...so the survey is an exception in that case

You are right,i shoudn't have let Gayman get on my nerves. Even though he is gay and an atheist, he has a right to both those choices,as i previously stated.

What ticks me off about this pervert Gayman, is that he wants people to accept his opinion and change situations to suit him, while totally rejecting others viewpoint, desire or choice.

Well if Im gay and athiest like you say thats still much better than being gay and christian like yourself. ;). Seriously, if you're going to insult me then would you at least come up with your own material rather than copy and pasting the same boring poo someone else used? Gayman? Seriously...

As for being a bandwagon fan, tell me how many games you went to during the 1-15 season and every 7-9 season we've had. Id love to know.

If you happen to see someone sitting in your section who is about 6 ft 3, 270 lbs with a shaved head, goatie, and a doberman tatoo on his right arm with a light tan wearing a blue #90 jersey then feel free to ATTEMPT to do what just said you would do. Something tells me the only poo you would be kicking is the poo coming down your pants when you wonder what I did just get myself into. :)

You mean like forcing other people to pray just because the majority in the stands are christian with no regards whatsoever to the people in the stands that may not beleive in the same thing?

I gotcha. I just don't see why it matters if he's gay or an atheist. It's football for cryin out loud. If he liked to coat his wiener in bbq sauce and have his cats lick it off I couldn't give a darn less.

But maybe I'm just wierd, idk.
