Charles Tillman First Take

Relevant point from the first segment is that Peanut emphasized the importance of the "team" element of the organization. Values, etc. He seemed to really believe that the magic ingredient to success is that concept of playing for each other...and Carolina has that.

Peanut did a good job. Kinda seemed like he didn't want to be there. I thought he could've answered the ref question a bit more diplomatically but basically said that he hopes the refs are fair with us throughout the season regardless of Cam's comments.

He also described how he thinks some of Cam's development as a passer has improved because of KBs injury. Meaning that because Cam is forced to throw to more people after KBs injury that Cam has developed more because of it. He reiterated the concept that the team looks at each game individually and don't pay much attention to anything going on outside of the next game...but are paying a "smidge" of attention to the Falcons.

Finally he said he believed that when 53 guys believe in one thing (that they are the greatest football team in the NFL) it can be a very powerful thing.

asking him "are the Panthers the worst of the undefeated teams".  Then skip rattles off the teams we beat, all 1-3.

Wish Tillman had pointed out that one of the reasons they are all 1-3 is because they all played the Panthers.

They'd be 2-2 if they beat us.

Tillman also mentioned, that the team feeds off the energy of Cam, when asked directly about Newton (and Stephen A., took away that Tillman was saying it's the opposite against Cutler, by Tillman's response).

He also mentioned, he plays for Thomas Davis, Cam, Luke, CJ, etc., when mentioning they all play for each other.

    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
    • Burns at 5-6 seems....a little aggressive.
