I guess it would depend. If Ryan was calling all these crazy blitzes and Allen was perpetually forced to call 4, 5 and 6 man coverages then it may not be his fault and Ryan was just setting him up to fail calling coverages. Or Allen could have just been failing and nothing will change. It's impossible to really know. Also, it honestly seems like a really stupid idea to have 2 different guys calling defensive plays. I've heard of offenses having two different play callers for runs and passes, but those don't occur at the same time. One guy calling the front 7 and one guy calling the back 7 on the same play seems like a classic case of too many cooks in the kitchen.

Allen has reportedly stated that he's going to go with only seven safeties, so apparently there will be changes.

That guy is, maybe, the biggest fraud in the history of the NFL.  If his daddy wasn't Buddy Ryan no way he last as long as he did in the NFL.  But watch, some team will give him another DC job.
