Lack of respect for the Panthers is because...

What is the difference?

I'd take winning football games over a popularity contest...and respect from who?

Media?........Fans?

Do they play the games?

The teams in the NFL and their players know what the deal is...........and they may or may not admit that when a camera or microphone is shoved in their face but respect in the NFL is there amongst those who know it most............and that is what counts....

Real Reason....

The "this is a passing league" narrative. ..

And the Panthers have Ginn, Cotchery, Funn Funn, and Brown...

All these analyst want a exciting outside threat at WR.. And can't figure out how we're winning without one...

There are a million different "reasons" because there isn't some sort of massive media conspiracy against us with a driving force behind it. "Analysts" are paid to give opinions which get viewers, not to be analysts really - viewers are drawn in by conflict, by seeing someone they agree with, or by seeing someone they can hate because they don't agree with them.  Personally I think the "media disrespect" or whatever and how it waxes or wanes is more an indication of popular support for the team outside of the home market than anything else.

Simply put the larger and more active our fanbase becomes outside of the home market (which only comes through sustained success and time) the more the media coverage will skew to the positive (though even now, really, it's not nearly as bad as a lot of people around here make it out to be)

    • Been here a while but rarely post and most of them are smartazz. Mostly lurk just so I can sound informed while hanging out drinking beer in my neighbors garage. Amusingly a Huddle level of knowledge kind of makes you a subject matter expert. Thanks for that.
    • That’s similar as saying MVP Cam is the same as rookie Cam because his mechanics didn’t change. We’re talking about production.
    • In 2025 Sam Darnold had over 1k more passing yards than Bryce Young on 1 less pass attempt. Repeat that to yourself several times and let it sink in. I absolutely love it when people come on here and invoke Sam Darnold like some gotcha. Darnold is the physical prototype for what anyone needs in a franchise QB. All the physical tools. Few people thought he would put it all together on the mental side of the position. He used to make some of the worst decisions you would ever see. At times in the past he made up for that with absurd throws and athleticism. But make no mistake whatsoever no matter how you feel about our starting QB. Bryce Young is a completely opposite conundrum. He lacks virtually any and all physical tools and athleticism and his elite processing is really mediocre at best on a good day and horrific on a bad day. These are realities people should have already been addressing instead of quadrupling down in year four.
