We shoud trade with Chicago

We'll have to wait until the defensive line becomes as big of a problem as it was in the preseason before we do anything for it. They did some rotation on the line putting Brown and Johnson on the ends and putting Peppers and Brayton in the middle on a couple plays and had the usual DT rotation with Leonard, Lewis, and Hayden.

Chicago are not going to go for that if it was consider by the Panthers. And the only LB I would give away is Landon Johnson, but Chicago won't go for it & the fact is who would take Landon's spot? The only way we can get a DT & 1st round pick is by giving away several of our best players & that isn't a good idea. They would give us what you mention if it was Beason & no way in hell should we do that. Beason is one of our best LB ever & it's a shitty idea to give him away.

Actually, I think if we start Leonard, we'll be good at DT. The guy looked the part when I saw him in the game yesterday and even got a sack. He's got a big frame, but he's also got quite a motor for a guy that big. I don't think we need another DT.

WE HAVE BIGGER CONCERNS RIGHT NOW. lol

I think we done enough to fix up our defense. Its ONLY one problem left and thats the QB situation. Our GM is thinking short term instead of future. Its plenty options out there for the future

When you think future you give fans hope of what's going to come. There is no future in short term so after short term is up, ya ass is right back to square one

Our interior D actually looked good to me yesterday. It was their off-tackle stuff that got them the yardage. I know it's almost blasphemous to say it here on the huddle, but most of their big runs came from the over pursuit of our LB core. Thomas Davis looked good though. That whole swarm to the ball poo seems to be right up his alley.

    • When a team has EXPECTATIONS you have to show them that your fandom and praise is EARNED.  People would be mad if the they lost two one goal competitive games like 2023 but they wouldn't have gotten booed out of the building because the effort and competitiveness would be there but to lose in THAT fashion at home with your entire top line going free lance and saying fug this yeahhh.
    • Well with back to back road games to open the season again we really can't afford a "slow start" at least not for the psyche of the fanbase that is already at rock bottom from years of losing. I think that will depend on our approach to preseason this go around. But I do agree the makings of a culture change could be big for us. At the same time we heard talk of this last year and then we got the doors blown off multiple times. I can agree with you it's best to try to maintain perspective until we get closer to the midway point of the season. The main things I want to see early on even if we aren't necessarily winning is spark and toughness from the offense and defense and at least keeping games close.
    • First goal hmmm im going with Verhague
