Newton wins a title, he's Michael Jordan

Recommended Posts

Yes, I think we have that special of an athlete on our hands here. That rare of a talent. A greatest ever type. Most would say well he's not MJ because he hasn't won a title. Then they'll say ok win 5-6.

I really think we are talking about a Michael Jordan type talent here that we aren't going to realize until it's over in 10-12 years from now that he was the rarest breed/greatest ever sort. If Newton wins a title with this bunch and goes 16-0, he's the closest thing the NFL has ever had to MJ.

They said you couldn't win an NBA title without a dominant center or with a player who lead the league in scoring but MJ proved them wrong and Cam is certainly on pace to prove a lot of people wrong as well but he's going to have to it a few more times in spectacular fashion for that comparison to go beyond that.

You see the bandwagon. I hadn't seen this dude post since 2013.

Yeah there are a few of these kinds of posters unfortunately.

I'm not trying to be rude, it just seems absurd that someone would post as much drivel as he regularly did in gameday threads when the team was still developing, only to disappear when the chips were down. Yet here he is back again out of the blue when we are 14-0 trying to rally the fan base. No, just no. We've got plenty of loyal fans around here who have actually supported all along.

I feel like he is the other dude everyone hates on. I can't remember his name but their grammar is the same, their posts are the same, what they talk about it, e wish-wash manner of their posts. And the timing lines up. Who am I talking about because I can't think about it. Hey are the same guy, I'm almost sure. If I were a forensic scientist, I would deduce they are the same person.

YeeeAaaahhhhh.... MJ right now in the NFL is Brady. Slow your role. No one disputes that he has the talent and potential. But he still has a lot to prove.

Can't be MJ if you're one dimensional and un-athletic.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
