My prediction for Sunday

Mr. Scot

Um. Giants have been missing tackles the last 2 weeks to Brian Westbrook and Tashard Choice. Statistics or not, that WILL come to haunt them. If anything, how you play on the field is more of an indication of how well you'll perform than statistics. We've been hot, they are not.

Both are similar teams, both use deep-play action passing game and running the ball. Very simple defensive offense concept. Run the ball with 7 in the box, deep pass with 8. You saw that with Tampa, you saw it just last Sunday with Denver. Panthers currently have Steve Smith as the deep threat and Moose who can occasionally make plays whenever in single coverage...The giants... they lost their big play threat. They're stuck with a possession receiver and drew carters. They have no reliable deep threat to draw double teams and their o-line and Running Backs have gotten banged up the last few weeks because they have to work that much harder. The effect of the loss of Burress wasn't immediately seen because the first game after was the game that the opponents in recent weeks have used to dissect the giants.

For the giants to win on sunday, someone will have to step up to provide a deep threat, otherwise they're going to to get more banged up trying to win a meaningless game when it matters more in the playoffs. Why is it meaningless for the giants? Unlike the panthers, the giants already clinched the division. They can rest up now for the playoffs, the panthers have to come to play week in and week out. That is why the panthers will be the team with the most fire come sunday.

Around midnight, whether for positive or negative, this forum will be overreaction central.

There will either be proclamations of greatness or calls to bench/cut/fire any player or coach who could be seen as a scapegoat.

That's about the only prediction I feel comfortable making

What a great prediction! Now how about some lottery numbers?

Yep.

And we lost. We have some issues on both side of the ball...just like most teams and we need to address those for NO and the Playoffs.

Thing is, we showed last night that we belong at the top of the food chain in the NFC.

No major injuries that I know of from the game.

Hopefully we will get some of our starters back from the injury list.

One thing, it was nice to see a game where there were no ticky tacky penalties. Basically either side had to basically come close to committing a felony before a flag was thrown.
