Makes me think of back when I was a youngster and the Vikings played outside at some old stadium...  Seemed like every game was -1....   Both teams used the same sideline at that stadium for some reason....  Just couldnt go past the 50 yard line....

If you want a good laugh, read this thread on the seahawks forum.  They are trying to convince themselves that the relatively few heated pipes installed to keep the field from freezing will magically heat the air "20, maybe 30 degrees".

If you've never played in bone-chilling, limb-numbing cold like that, there's no way to prepare other than maybe to lock yourself in a freezer for a couple of hours and repeatedly slam yourself against the walls.

Your whole body aches; your fingers don't work right; the football feels like a rock; the ground is like cement; your face feels like it's been scrubbed with sandpaper; your throat feels so raw it hurts to breathe.  And hitting somebody?  Like a head on collision with a semi.

Just to nitpick, I do agree that the cold will hamper his passing game obviously, but it's time the Huddle stop calling Wilson "lucky" with his throws by now when he's leading the league in passer rating and posting a near 70% completion percentage.

Wilson not only played for the University of Wisconsin, his Badgers won the Big10 Conference Championship and he also set the FBS record for passing efficiency (191.8).  So I doubt passing in sub zero temps is going to be a new experience for him.

I suspect Vikings will make this meeting more of contest than the previous time, but thinking the cold weather is going to hamper Wilson more than the Minnesota players is wishful thinking at best.

That kinda weather hampers everybody.

Vikes guys may be more used to it than some of the Seahawks guys, but nobody is immune.

Exactly, Wilson is a superior talent at QB his record demonstrates that and he has experience playing in mid western winter temperatures and has thrived.  Thinking cold is going to be an huge advantage for one QB over the other requires a severe case of cognitive dissonance.  It is going to suck for anyone playing in those conditions.

Exactly.

You actually start to feel fragile.

Bud Grant wouldn't have cared one bit.  Made his players go without heaters on the sidelines back in the day.

Last I saw, he's still with the Vikings in some capacity.

Pretty sure I know how he feels about domed stadiums.

According to the Seahawks fans in the link jase posted, Wilson's coldest game while at Wisconsin was 43. A little warmer than Sunday forecast.

Yeah, he's fugged.

Seriously, I believe the Panthers have been a better team for the last several years than the Vikings are right now.

During that period of time, the Panthers have found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard with the Seahawks on more than one occasion.

So I'm guessing the Vikings will have the odds stacked against them this weekend regardless of the temperature.

I don't think anyone here thinks Vikings are the better team.  Crazy weather can change everything for one day. Having the weather throw off RW hot streak gives Vikings their best shot.

I wouldn't hang my hat on that happening, but it may be the best the Vikings can hope for,  because it is unlikely Bridgewater is going to put the team on his back and carry them to victory.
