All the offseason moves in the NFL thus far

For those that are interested, NFLtraderumors.com has put together a list of all the offseason moves to date. It's a dry list, but it could be interesting depending on one's perspective in that it may offer up some insight into each FO's thinking. Quite frankly, it's kind if like reading tea leaves in a way. Some GM's want to win big now (Giants), while others have made ome seemingly great foundational moves for the future (Raiders).

Like I alluded to in another thread, to me it's about holding together your core and developing your own to the point where they provide adequate depth and/or become part of that core group in the future. The draft and mining for gold among the UDFAs is central to that end as well. Moreover panning for nuggets among cuts and practice squads (the competition's and your own) can yield very good results. Of course you can get lucky in FA by adding a potential young stud (come on, Coples), but I see the main goal as shopping for value-priced stopgaps of varying degrees.

Anyway, I am rambling a bit. For those that are interested, take a gander and contemplate all of the dynamics.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
