So cause one source (SI) says we was he was a first round pick, it must be scripture. Ealy was a projected first rounder by almost every major nfl draft outlet and actually went in the second round.

Hardy didn't have Star and Short taking up blockers, Hardy was never benched. Nobody had expectations for Hardy.

In the end, until Ealy shows more consistency on the field it would be pretty foolish to hinge your wagon on him.

the point was that hardy wasn't some marginal throwaway pick who happened to turn into an all pro which is what i felt like you were implying.  him and ealy had similar pedigrees, but as was pointed out hardy fell for effort and character reasons.  his physical gifts were never, ever in doubt.  and you either weren't here or weren't paying attention in 2010/11/12 because there were high expectations for hardy at least in this fan base.  it was commonly understood that he was a first round talent.

i'm not suggesting that ealy is going to be an all pro, i'm saying there are numerous examples all over the league including a few you should be intimately familiar with as a panthers fan that had a similar trajectory.  as foolish as it is to hitch your wagon to him it's equally foolhardy to think he's developing particularly slowly.

Hardy first round talent? In what universe. It certainly wasn't for his on the field college production and his measurables were pretty bad also. Nobody had any expectations for Hardy, if he was as talented as you claim he was, he still would have gone in the first just like Nkemdiche went last night.

Do you just love being completely wrong on the time? Seriously your poo posting is unreadable.

Hardy had 4 sacks in his second season while starting 15 games....

Ealy had 5 sacks while starting 9 games.....

Also dumb dumb Hardys best season came with Star and Short.

What are you even talking about? You are completely lost in this conversation that you badly want to involved in.

this universe:

unless SI was just pulling a late april fools prank

he was considered a first round prospect prior to his senior year but fell due to injuries and concerns about effort plus his weak combine.  so yeah, he was considered a first round talent that fell into hurney's lap and the fan expectations bore that out.  at this point though it's pretty much my word versus yours and i'm about to drop it because this isn't going anywhere.
