Have an interview.  Had my phone interview today..went very well....was for CSSR....but she said was going to recommend they bump to Personal Banker. Said will get a call for interview with District Manager.

Your experience there?

I work across the street from Wells Fargo in uptown.  Very diverse environment.

Worked there a few years. Diverse and conservative.  They move slow on technology and innovation and use bonus structures more than most banks. Meaning they take 10k or so of what a salary should be and make it attainable thru monthly bonuses. Not a bad place to work.

Try to get over to fraud or wealth mgmt in a year or so.

Good luck

Wells isn't bad and they pay pretty well, but I don't know the retail side of things which I have heard absolute NIGHTMARE stories about.  So be careful.  Personal banker has really insane goals.  I know for sure because of my wife at other banks over the years and the word from people is Wells has the WORST sales goals out of any of them.    So just make sure you're OK with crazy goals and a lot of stress if you are OK with being a personal banker.   When the branch manager is getting flak for not bringing in enough business the person to go is usually the PBs.    If you're going to be working at a store in a area that isn't that great, you'll also have trouble with goals.

So while everyone is right, Wells is diverse and pretty good, remember the branches (or stores they like to call them) are a whole different beast and basically, a different company.   Working uptown or at the CIC off Harris is pretty good though.

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
