Sorry for a non-Panthers tweet, but just saw this, and I was shocked.  I had no idea there were any rookies who hadn't signed a contract.  Thought rookie holdouts were extinct with this CBA.  wow.  I'd be steaming if I were a Chargers fan!

Thank goodness Panthers players pretty much all understand TEAM FIRST.

I saw this too. Got to be some asshat agent trying to set a precedence for future drafts.  Something about all guaranteed money up front.

DeAndre Hopkins is holding out too.  Same draft class as Star and Short.  Glad to see our guys are in camp and not holding out.  High morale fiber makes a difference.

Or more like Dickson will be cut. Sandland is staying.

Given how thin we are at Oline, I could see us going with 4 TEs.

Given news that Foucault is looking poor, I'm thinking it's increasingly possible we go with only 8 or max 9 Oline on roster to start season.  That could open up a spot for a TE, especially since Devon Rockhead's chance of getting a spot seems to be decreasing given his back issues.

WOW.

Heat Index today was 114 on the field.

And Rivera is pushing the guys.  ANOTHER padded practice tomorrow:

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Defensive end Kony Ealyicon-article-link.gif has entered the concussion protocol after suffering the injury at the end of Saturday’s practice.

"Kony is in the protocol. We have to be careful, we have to be smart," head coach Ron Rivera said.

Wide receiver Kelvin Benjaminicon-article-link.gif and defensive end Charles Johnsonicon-article-link.gif were given the day off.

"Vet days today for Kelvin and Charles. They’ll be a few more guys tomorrow that will get vet days," Rivera said.

It was an up and down day on both sides of the ball Sunday. Rivera was frustrated with some mental errors but was proud of the way the team battled through the hottest practice yet. Head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion said the heat index was 114.

"I thought they did a good job pushing themselves through today," Rivera said. "Tomorrow will be a great test, and we’ll find out what we’re made of. It’s going to be a tough one. Five straight days of practice, third straight fully-padded practice."

Following Monday’s practice, the players will get a chance to leave camp for a day off on Tuesday.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said first-round pick Vernon Butler is a "work in progress." Rivera wants to see the defensive tackle finish plays. That's why Butler was working with line coach Eric Washington after practice. "Our No. 1s play," Rivera said. "We don't bring them in to have to develop. How much he plays is going to be dependent on how much he's learned and how he's grown as a football player."

The Chargers want to pay him some of his bonus money next year and Bosa's camp wants it all in 16, like many of the other players/teams.

This is a Chargers thing, they like to pay bonus money over two years vs. many teams 1 year.  They don't want to change the way they do it, and he wants his money up front like many others.

Rivers had a very similar situation when he was a rookie.
