I have it for PS4. Haven't done much with it but they added the practice squad. They do not have Byrd on the roster yet, so I'm waiting for that roster update. I tried to create him but they make you pay him as if he is a free agent when you create a guy. I'm not paying Byrd what he may be worth for at least 3 years. :)

I haven't played with the rosters very much, so I haven't noticed the absence of Byrd. I looked at the highest rated players - Luke tops that list. I think they mixed up Benjamin and Funchess receiving skills. Benjamin catches everything. He's like Jerry Rice in this game. Funchess, on the other hand, he drops it. Every. Single. Time.

I plan on starting up my franchise today and then going online over the weekend... unless, of course, someone here wants to get a game going before then.

I'm still waiting for the rosters to update. I played through a few seasons with the franchise but I don't want to really sit down and play it until the rosters have all the right people.

Also, noticed for some reason that Yankey had SuperStar development speed. That kinda threw me off. I'm wondering if that had to do with him doing really well for me that first year and getting a bump in development speed. At the end of the season he had like 18,000 development points. And so did that guy who made it to our Practice Squad...I forget his name. Just found it weird.

I downloaded an update last night, but it may have been old since I hadn't played in a week.

I've only played one game online - some cheeser also playing as the Panthers. He kept cussing into his headset whenever I picked off his passes. He started out running a fake punt on like 4th and 5, and I thought "oh boy, one of THESE guys." Then I became overly aggressive for a bit and turned the ball over a few times. I should have blown him out, but it was like 17-10. He stayed in cover 3 almost the whole game, so I was just doing counters and hitch routes all the way down the field.

I still can't get the read option to work. I hit the button to hand off and think I'm controlling Stewart, only to realize Cam still has the ball and I just ran directly into the edge rusher.

The read-option is always a disaster for me. I don't even bother calling it anymore. I only play a little against real people. The main reason I like the game is for the offline franchise mode. That's why I'm more interested in getting the roster right. I went ahead and made Byrd and then deleted him. Because he was created they wanted him to come with a contract that is certainly not what he is getting paid this year. Plus they still have the old punters and a few other moves etc.

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
