Fox built the team to Beat Vick..

..can he apply the same mindset for beating Garcia??

Fox has stated before that he built the team to beat the Falcons, who had been running the South for some time.. Gamble and Lucas were the cover corners for our D-line to get pressure and T.Davis was the QB spy that we used in both games VS Atl in Davis' rookie season.. he did an excellent job shadowing Vick all game, both times..

i know we dont have the same pressure D-line, but do you think it would be stupid to do the same with Garcia.. Garcia doesn't run as much or as well as Vick did, but against us there really isnt much of a difference.. maybe assigning Davis to Spy on Garcia would be a waste of talent on a small part of their offense, but maybe it just might limit those 3rd and 6 scrambles for 1st downs..

opinions??

Well I hope the idea has been entertained. Used in the right situations doing that could give us some turnovers. jeff garcia is one of my most hated qbs. He always finds a way to beat us. I hated it when he did it with Philly and I really hate it when he does it with TB. If we can cover the recievers pretty well I believe everything will fall into place for us. Garcia seems to preform better when being pressured. If we pressure him I want to see sacks.

 Atlanta has only won the division once...in 2004.

2002: 71-0 nuff' said

2003: vick is gone all season, first game back in our superbowl year he absolutley embarrasses us and we have to watch the "vick yards" counter go all the way to 150 yards rushing or something like that, horrible game

2004: they whoop us and then we give them a run for their money but then suffer a last minute TD by the amazing flying asshole levating into the endzone because we lost contain once again

2005: god bless T. Davis, vick is squashed

2006: falcons embarrass us in the opener

they were a thorn in our side ever since vick came into the leauge and it only got worse once fox got here, you have to beat those in your division first, I don't see any fault in the argument blackpanther is making

OK- I hear you there. The initial post said they were running the South.

They've only run this division once since it started.

(let's not give them more credit than they deserve....they look to be OK for the next couple years.)

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
