NFL = WWE

I've officially decided to stop watching football as though it is a competitive sport. It's officially sports entertainment. The NFL and it's league offices have scripted how this season, along with the last few, will go. They clearly decide the outcome of games regularly... It's no longer a competition it is a "sport" concerned with scripted outcomes. I won't watch it with true hope anymore and simply enjoy whatever weekly soap opera storyline they are feeding me. What a sad day all around. Win or lose tonight, at this point I don't care about anything from the NFL anymore.

Two consecutive games with these "human errors" conveniently going the way of the same team...  that's not an error.

How about that call? The refs aren't out to get us. Sometimes teams are more unlucky than others.

Hey, if you want to believe that Hulk Hogan's leg** drop is truly the most devastating move ever... I won't burst your bubble. This whole damn thing is a sham to make money at this point. Nothing real about these outcomes.

I've seen Cam take three different shots to the head tonight without one being called. Denver has gotten every call they needed for 2 straight games. The NFL wants eyeballs on the screen and don't care what else happens.

0proof.. NFL just got more eyeballs by extending this drive for us instead of ending it with 2 minutes and a bunch of knees left.

** thanks Lomez

That's actually my exact point. At least twice tonight he has been hit high and low at the same time (chop block) while taking contact to the head. That's technically 2 penalties at the same time.. The almighty NFL has called 1. They called the one personal foul just to get it negated by a lesser penalty. So the game would continue and keep more eyeballs on the screen. It's all bullshit.

At what point does football begin to be scripted? Not high school...Not college...at what point does it start?

    • It's actually interesting you mention Richardson because I've seen it suggested here Bryce will have 500 or more rushing yards and 5-10 rushing touchdowns this year. And if big Anthony Richardson can get hurt carrying the rock what's that tell you about the practicality of thinking Bryce won't?
    • I mean, I get why the media and some NFL and Carolina fans are saying that we don't have a real chance, but as many Huddlers should know, we won't know what we really have in this team until probably late September or early October at the earliest. And I'm not trying to be a homer, I'm just looking at things historically. Obviously I'm also looking at Bryce's "palatable" improvement the last half of last season (including being the catalyst for hanging with and nearly beating the Super Bowl participants), and the new additions that we've acquired overall. I'm also looking at the beginnings of a culture change--even if perceptibly subtle--to some degree indeed may take a foothold if things start falling the right way. But, overall, I'm still cognizant of the realization that things could just go south and that perhaps that Bryce could revert and flop, or that D & D (Dan and Dave) are not the answer, but I still am not ready to say "we're far away." Hell we could be close, albeit with growing pains, but even if we're on the course to bring legit in 2026, then guys like Ramsey would be welcome additions this season. That's just my take on it. I don't think we'll know that we're far away until some point in the season. If we can compete in the South...who knows?
    • You guys remember when the narrative on here was that Bryce would be chronically injured in the NFL due to his size and Anthony Richardson would be super durable due to his? You remember when the narrative was that Bryce was physically incapable of throwing a ball further than 20 yards in the NFL? You remember “I’ll stop complaining when he throws for more than 200 yards and looks like an NFL quarterback”? You remember when 60 sacks was his fault and not the offensive line, slow WRs, and terrible scheme? Pepperidge Farm remembers. It will always be something for some people. Whatever insanity they come up with will be quickly dropped to move on to the next thing. Bryce could have an MVP Super Bowl winning season and they would complain that we can’t run the tush push with him. It will always be something.
