Didn't want to come here today... but did... Didn't see it on the front page... but Shula...

I don't think people are going out of their way to criticize Shula. Life would be grand if Shula wasn't an issue.

I guess that every time the going gets rough, that it's the players' fault en masse.  Everyone is failing to execute. That's just more sensible.

The thing is Shula works with Cam and the weapons he has to create a scheme they think will work. It isn't just Shula but all the offensive coaches and the players that all have a role in our success or our failures. If our offense sucks one week or another Shula and the coaches got outcoached and the players got outplayed. They work hand in hand. That's why assigning blame to one side or person without understanding the symbiotic relationship among all parties is rather naive.

Symbiosis is really the primary element of a team (football or otherwise), but not all members of a team are equal. Ultimately when the team begins to break down in a particular area, or multiple areas, the managers are the ones with the responsibility to feret out and address problems so that areas that are underperforming are afforded the tools to perform at acceptable, hopefully optimal, levels. The trick is that not all environments are static. Most are dynamic and need adjustments on the fly. This is why coordination of all these different elements of a team is critical to the success or failure of the team.

Exactly. That is why Cam sits down with the QB coach and watches film and video in between series so they can make adjustments on the fly. And they talk about it at halftime. Then after the game they spend hours breaking down film on Monday so they can practice Tuesday and make corrections. That way they provide constant evaluation of how things are going so that Cam can lead his offense on the field given he is managing everything in the actual game.

I have never understood the idiocy of the Hudlle.

It will be decades before we find a better and more creative OC than Shula.

How many Huddlers were OC of a 15-1 team last year that has won the division 3 times in a row?

How good and "creative" do you think Shula would be if, say, Blake Bortles was his QB?

What would our record have been last year with Blake Bortles and those receivers?

How many divisions in a row would we have won with Blake Bortles under Mike Shula's coordination and not Cam Newton?

Would Blake Bortles have survived a season with two UDFAs as his OTs?  Or would Shula's play calling have gotten him severely injured?

Shula is adequate, Cam  makes him look good, hell Cam would make a Rex Ryan offense look good. Shula also has the tendency to do stupid ish at key times as well.

I'd like to see our offense move on from this read option crap Shula calls all the time.  Sure Cam can do it like no other, doesn't mean he should. The lone exception would be goal line where he is deadly to opposing D's. Seeing Cam get creamed with helmet to helmet hits and then seeing Shula continuing to call read option Thursday Night was nothing short of idiotic. Cam can run a high end offense, he'll get plenty of opportunities to run the ball just scrambling during the game as Steve Young did back in the day. Cam has plenty of weapons to use right now, use them.

We want Cam to lead us 15 years into the future, not 5. Shula blows.

I have said it a billion times, but the only top 25 team in college football that would be stupid to hire Shula to the same position would be LSU...well because Les Miles thinks he is coaching in the 1940s...however, Shula is not the worst thing wrong with this offense...

But we are here talking about our offense...despite the fact that our elite defense...of which we have poured all our heart and soul into yet again blows a 4th quarter lead...to some dude named after a sailor...

This defense is supposed to shut down opposing offenses for 60 minutes...despite Dave Gettleman diverting/delaying getting Shula the speed that he desires, or the protection up front that Newton deserves...we ONCE AGAIN opt to go defense, defense, defense in the draft...while bring or ATTEMPTING to bring in added offensive talent.

Stop looking to the offense for answers when the powers that be elect to ignore that unit in the off-season, repeatedly.

How creative is anyone going to be with Blake Bortles? Hard to say but you can only work with what you are given. Has Shula benefitted from having Cam? Of course. Has Cam learned everything he knows from Shula at a much faster pace than anyone imagined. It is a tribute to teacher and student. Each much better off together. Shula has designed a unique offense built around Cam and Cam has mastered it.  Anyone who can't see that is a hater or moron. Take your pick.
