LOL Roughing the Passer

FOX cuts to the WAS/NYG game after our disastrous beatdown and i believe it was the second play, Cousins threw a slant and was hit as he released.  The pass was incomplete  but a pass rusher made contact with Cousins helmet (it appeared incidental) as he hit him.  Refs called roughing the passer.

I know we can't change what's already been done, but officiating definitely cost us the season opener and threatened our QBs health...  Had that game been called the way any other game is called with any other QB not named Cam Newton, we'd be 2-1 right now.

I hate to bring it back up, but it's hard to accept that we were robbed of a Superbowl, and have been put in a hole to start this season due to intentional and egregious targeting of our team and QB by the league and its officials...  and when I watch any other game, it's a constant slap in the face of how differently we're treated and makes me wonder if we'll ever be given a legitimate chance to win a superbowl.  It's bullshit.  fug the NFL.

Seriously? Excuses are like assholes. You know how the saying goes.

I am over this. I appreciate information, clearly we aren't going to get calls. Cam was horse collared and hit in the head and nothing was called. That's not why we lost. The players looked defeated for three quarters of the game. They just weren't in it. You can tell by the ten penalties. Also, that was a pathetic display of coaching. To me, the only person who showed up was Keek.

Yeah, I'm not posting this about today.  I honestly didn't see anything during the game as far as calls for or against Cam that directly affected the outcome.  I think our team was mentally and emotionally drained considering all that has gone on in their city this week.  The Vikings did what they needed to do, but we just didn't show up.  The officiating was horrible, but that wasn't the reason we lost today, it just contributed to it.

I'm saying WEEK 1, is absolutely due to officiating.  The Superbowl was due to officiating.  It is blatant and egregious.  And it honestly, has started to affect how I view the game and makes me question how seriously we should take it.

I'm just saying we should be 2-1 had it not been for officiating and if the officials had called our games like they do for all those cream puff QBs for 31 other teams.  Instead, we are 1-2 and historically, that doesn't bode well for playoff projection.  I bring it up again because literally every other game shows evidence of their bias against us.  It's a constant slap in the face.

Well at least the vikings weren't trying to scramble cam's brain when sacking him..

Man, I told somebody following the Denver game...  Did you hear me or many other fans complaining when Atlanta beat us last season?  Hell no.  They outright whooped us.  Straight up.  They weren't dirty about it, they just beat us.

I can respect that.  The Vikings did what they needed to do.  I hate it, but they played a clean game.  The officials were shitty, but I don't know that in the end that even matters when it came to this game.  They looked ready and we didn't.

The officials were shitty on both sides of the ball. And people complaining about a horse collar when Griffin sacked newton are flat out wrong. He had the back of his jersey sure, but didn't yank him backwards. Oh, and he did that all with one arm while being held by your lineman.

    • I want the following: LB - Devin Lloyd (our big money splash) I'm also interested in Nakobe Dean if we go the cheaper route. His size is a concern beside Wallace, but Dean is a Dan Morgan type of alpha leader of the defense. He's often called the heart of the Philly defense and would absolutely bring a swagger and be our field general on defense. We need this so badly and I'd almost rather go with him because Wallace is no guarantee to ever hit his potential, so maybe we go with Dean and find a Wallace replacement in on day 2. EDGE - Boye Mafe (SEA) I think he's a great blend of pass rush prowess, age and experience. We have our potential youngsters in Scourton and Umanmielen, let's add a vet from a successful franchise to bring some heat. Bye bye Wonnum....bye bye Jones. We roll with Mafe-Scourton-Umanmielen TE - Cade Otton (TB) Again, we have youth in this position w/ Sanders and Evans. Sanders is tracking similarly to Ian Thomas (age/stats) and wonder if he will ever be the TE we thought we stole in the 4th round. Evans looks legit, but more of a balanced/blocker. Sign Otton, who Dave is familiar with and save some money by cutting Tremble. Also allows us to roll Otton-Sanders-Evans in 13 personnel WR - Wan'dale Robinson or Rashid Shaheed I wonder if either of these will be priced out of our range based on age and what they bring. We do already have a 5'8" WR with Horn, Jr. so I'd see the argument against Robinson. However, the latter is still only 25 and just hit a 1k yard receiving season with suspect QB play in NY and an elite talent in Nabers on the roster. SEA gave up two '26 draft picks for Shaheed and he has stepped in nicely for the 'Hawks...doubt they let him walk. I also saw Doubs on the FA list and wonder if he'd be what we need. We need a separator that can be a deep threat to keep defenses honest. TMac/Coker are the bigger receivers, but not necesarily guys that scare a defense....would Doubs be that guy? SAF I'd like an upgrade here and wonder if we wait out the FA period until the latter stages if someone like Ar'Darious Washington or Jaylinn Hawkins lingers and there's a discount later in the game. Nick Scott can F off and I hope he never suits up for us again.
    • I just can’t see Morgan as being under the threat of unemployment at any time this upcoming season.  As little as ‘winning’ the division and making the playoffs impressed me, I think to Tepper it was like nectar of the Gods. A milestone for him. And the team did play well in the Wild Card. That has to buy him 2027. I would think. Unless we start 0-8 or something. Which I don’t believe will happen.
    • I'm not arguing that Linderbaum isn't a better player than Mays, just that the difference isn't as much as people might think. At least not compared to the difference in cost between the two players will be. In any event, I don't expect the Ravens to let him get to the open market.
