No major changes expected with the jerseys, which is a shame. I've never been a big fan of the new ones.

The jersey release is at 10PM tonight, if I'm not mistaken they are only releasing the home jersey tonight and will release the away jersey at the Canes draft party this Friday.

It's going to be a busy day in the NHL.

LVG will release their roster. It's been mentioned that Vegas could have deals in place with over half the teams in the league, so their roster today is not their final roster.

Las Vegas has selected Canes prospect Connor Brickley in return for a 5th round pick.

Stempniak is safe.

Van Riemsdyk would solve Carolina's issued for the third pairing right defenseman.

Ideally, the Canes could hopefully ship out a one for one: Murphy for Van Riemsdyk or potentially a draft pick for TVR.

Anywho, the defense appears to be set.

- Aho was 8th in Calder voting

- Staal was 9th in Selke voting

- Peters was 13th in Jack Adams voting

- Slavin was 20th in Norris voting

Last bit of news I got.

The Canes will host Eric Staal and the Wild in their home opener on 10/07/17. The full schedule will be released tomorrow.

The home opener is a Saturday, so I figure I'll make the trip down from Virginia.

Less than 5 minutes later, per ESPN: The Hurricanes have acquired right handed defenseman Trevor Van Riemsdyk for the Las Vegas Golden Nights.

The return has yet to be announced.

Well, that moves Hainsey which needed to happen eventually, but still doesn't address defensive depth. Guess we're leaning on the draft and rolling with a committee on our bottom d pairing?

Well Hainsey was moved earlier in the year to Pittsburgh for that pick. I was just showing the chronological order of how we ended up with TVR.

I expect are defense to be set.

Hanifin - Faulk

Fleury - TVR

Dahlbeck

McKeown, Carrick, and Murphy could see time due to injuries.
