Anyone an uber driver

Just wondering what your experience driving for uber or one of the other ride sharing outfits has been like.  Needing to make some cash money to pay off unexpected bills.

Not a driver but finally used Uber a couple weeks ago when up in Pismo while out drinking at night. Awesome service, press the button on your phone and your chariot arrives.

I signed up a couple of months ago - though I honestly rarely drive. Really good tax write offs and you can turn it on when ever you want. As a part time job, it's hard to beat. Make sure you get an app to track your expenses and miles for tax purposes. It's easy, you just follow your GPS and you get to drive and meet new people. Actually kind of fun on busy weekend nights.

I've thought about doing this as well for some extra cash. Would love to hear more drivers' perspective on it. When I was in CLT in August, a buddy of mine and myself used it for the first time and was picked up in like 3 mins. It was awesome.

Uber is a spectacular service. But i get uber to hit a bar in town and the dude gets $5.45. I tip Really well but what's your hourly rate at the end of the day after expenses and all that.
