It is Coach's Film Tuesday! Rejoice.

Every Tuesday I like to log in to NFL Gamepass and check out the different angles in the coach's film. As such, why not post a few things of note as I go along.

First play from scrimmage is a 15 yard gainer for the Rams.

Point of interest: Michael Griffin is actually the strong safety here, that is Kurt Coleman back at the 45 in the free safety spot. So technically Griffin started at safety over Boston.

This looks play like James Bradberry's fault. He did not switch to Griffin's man once he was picked. 15 yard gain results. Rivera said after the game that Bradberry showed rust.

On the radio broadcast Robinson frequently commented that the corners were making themselves susceptible to picks by playing at the same depth when thever rams were bunching receivers. I can't tell if this was one of those situations.

It isn't. Griffin is reading run like a linebacker until the tight end pops out. Just a good offensive play call.

Another 15 yard pass play from Case Keenum.

Daryl Worley does a nice job here keeping the receiver to the inside where the help is. Worley trips as the WR makes his move. The turf was chewed up in places from the college game Saturday, possible explanation.

Tre Boston doesn't get there in time. Boston may be staying back a bit further to prevent the huge plays that have gashed this defense every week. 15 yards better than a TD.

Still Rams first series.

Once again Michael Griffin up at Strong Safety with Coleman back in the free spot.

Looks like the Panthers like this combo on 1st downs. Coleman playing less and less Strong Safety.

Biggest mistake of the season imo was moving Colman. Took a strength and made it a weakness.

Panthers ball. 3rd and 3. Rams showing blitz in a Cover 1 defense.

Untitled-6.jpg

4 reads, only 1 of which is even remotely ready for the ball as Cam is sacked. This kind of thing drives me crazy about the offensive play calling. The Rams aren't hiding the fact that they are going to bring the pressure. The long developing routes by 75% of the targets are pointless.

Whoever that is.....he's wide the fug open.

There are 4 receivers within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage.  they are all covered well other than the one literally by himself.

No, thats KB, he is so big you cannot see the defender behind him. You just can't see it. I thought the same thing. He is covered.

    • Number 9  Carolina Panthers  Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, produced career highs in completion percentage (63.6%), passing yards per game (188.2) and passing touchdowns (23) in 2025. However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down. He threw for the third-fewest passing yards by a quarterback to make the playoffs in the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports Research.  FEWEST PASSING YARDS BY QB TO REACH PLAYOFFS, LAST 20 SEASONS (MIN. 16 STARTS) PASSING YARDS PLAYOFF WINS 2012 Christian Ponder (MIN) 2,935 0 2008 Joe Flacco (BAL) 2,971 2 2025 Bryce Young (CAR) 3,011 0 2006 Steve McNair (BAL) 3,050 0 2019 Josh Allen (BUF) 3,089 0 Young did deliver some high highs, like when he threw for a franchise-record 448 yards passing in a Week 11 overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons and when he went toe-to-toe with Stafford in the playoffs in a 34-31 defeat.  Kenny Pickett couldn't win the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition a year ago, and Will Grier is a career backup. • This is why we need the Bank of America Stadium Ballroom.
    • That thread has all the huddle legends either posting in it or mentioned in it. I remember everyone of those folks and I truly miss seeing them post here. This place was so much better with them here.
