you fine pros---this was bush league,  Humiliate your QB, punish teammates and fans.  Nice work.  bottom line--RR wanted to show people he has not lost team.

I'm really not trying to start another thing with you, but I'm interested why you added the "apparently by way of our GM" portion?

If the QB was benched, it was the coaches decision period. Nobody else. Not Dave. Not Jerry.

Ron fuged up this time all by himself.

I was 100% with you and thinking the same thing as far as it all being on Ron, until I saw Voth's tweets.  He says it came from Dave and that, per usual, Ron would fall on the sword as the public face of the decision.

I'm actually much more troubled about our level of dysfunction now as a result.  If it was just Ron, it makes coming decisions that much more easy, but it appears we have deeper problems.

Seems a special kind of stupid to tweet his pregame outfit on the team's official social media accounts, then to punish Cam for wearing those outfits.

And yes, I fully realize RR and the Panther's social media people are completely unconnected, but its still strikes me as dumb that one arm of the organization (which is probably concerned very heavily with the team's PR/image) indirectly endorsed what Cam wore by tweeting it, then RR subsequently punished him for it.

Cam's cleats (originally?), along with what he wore on the flight; I see nothing to warrant disciplinary action from the coach here.

This is also further evidence that some bullshit is afoot from within...  if he was violating league policy with his pregame attire, why would our organization post it through their official social media accounts?

The cleats sound more and more like the culprit.  And that is bullshit.  It wasnt a divisive message, but our organization is so scared of public perception.  Remember when Boston and Ball discussed making a statement/protest following the Kaep and Charlotte protests?  Boston never did it, made 3xcuses as to why after, and didnt we cut Ball?  Remember when Cam was drafted and the article came out about how JR told Cam he needed to basically stay marketable so he wasnt allowed to have any piercings or tattoos as the face of our franchise.  This organization wants to run everything through every possible PC filter there is before it gets to the public.  This is embarrassing.

Besides Henson's tweet, Gettleman doesn't make depth chart or playing time decisions.  That's under the authority of the head coach, and he's shown he won't overrule Ron's decisions.

Sometimes I wish he would, but he won't.

I'm still not convinced he fires Rivera, either.

I thought Ron said it was completely his decision?

Can you link the Voth part? I haven't seen it.

This team covers everything with a fine tooth comb and microscope, there is no way the staff and media depts are that unaware of one another.

On another note, it appears Cam is now The Hand of The King.

Voth speculated about it earlier, but speculation is all it was. Every actual statement that's come out has been that it was Rivera's decision.

It's also known that Gettleman does not interfere in depth chart / active-inactive / number of snaps / playing time decisions.

If we find out differently (doubtful) who knows?  Reality though is it was a dumb decision regardless of who was behind it.

Right now all signs point to Rivera.
