If Fox was fired, would he resurface as a DC or HC?

Nope. There are only a handful of coaches in danger of being fired: Fox, Del Rio, Kubiak, and Zorn. There are too many legendary coaches already available out there as well as great coordinators for Fox to get back into it next year.

Fox is not likely to be fired, but if he is, he will be back within a year after he is fired, if he wants to come back.

Irt legendary coaches, there are only a few of those. Landry, Lombardi, Gibbs, Walsh, Parcells, and maybe Jimmy Johnson. It took Cowher 15 years to win a Superbowl. He certainly hasn't approached legendary status yet, and neither have Holmgren or Shanahan.

Joe Gibbs won three Super Bowls with the Redskins in his first run. His last stint? Not so good.

Look at Shanahan's post Elway record and see how many Super Bowls you find (or even playoff wins for that matter). Likewise, Holmgren outside of the Packers system as run by Ron Wolf with Brett Favre at QB.

Two playoff appearances in four years is actually pretty good, especially given the Redskins lack of success almost any other year, and having to deal with Snyder in the front office.

he would get another HC job right away. he would go to his new team and have success within a season or two by taking them back to fundamentals. most people here will say 'look what we let go, he's winning elsewhere.'

then in 5 years all of the problems on the team that he has refused to acknowledged will build up, the players will stop believing in him and realize all he knows is fundamentals, and they will be extremely inconsistent.

repeat process.

(missed this one before...)

Reasonable notion, but you have to factor in that he wouldn't be with Marty Hurney. No telling how he'd mesh with a new GM and system.

Could be bad. Could be good.

Meatstradamus says Fox's most likely relocations are....

1. Tampa Bay

2. San Diego

3. N.Y. Giants if Coughlin retires soon

San Diego I could see if Turner finishes the year badly.

New York too if Coughlin retires. Their fans would love that.

Tampa though? I gotta believe Raheem Morris deserves more than just one year in a rebuilding situation.

Not if a top 10 coach who knows the division becomes available.

Wouldn't that make things interesting...

Maybe we should make it a swap and hire Raheem Morris :sosp:

I actually like him and think he could potentially be a success in the long run, despite the rough start.

(cue people jumping on me for dating a Bucs fan)
