Gettleman should've fired Ron Rivera and promoted Sean McDermott to HC. Then Mike Shula would been gone to.

McD would be defensive HC.  Defensive HCs generally LIKE Shula type ball.  Fans don't.

He will be out in 2 years when they clean house again

Yep, GM just said he didn't hire Rex Ryan, didn't know he was in danger of losing his job and then didn't know why he was fired.  That certainly doesn't sound like a front office a HC should be eager to be apart of....but I guess a HC job is a HC job

who do we get to replace him? lol the ryan brothers?

Not Rob but Rex Ryan would be an AWESOME DC.  Can't let someone bring a bad head coach blur what someone is as a coordinator. Few better than Rex when in that role.

Wouldn't happen because Rex is destined for TV currently and something would have to knock Rivera in house talent out as well

The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci reports the Bills are "zeroed in" on Panthers DC Sean McDermott as their next head coach.

It was reported earlier Tuesday that the Bills were leaning toward McDermott or interim coach Anthony Lynn as their replacement for Rex Ryan. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora added that owners Terry and Kim Pegula are "very intrigued" by McDermott. Carucci reports something could be done in the next day or two. McDermott, 43 in March, has never been a head coach at any level.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
