Panthers sign WR Russell Shepard

Panthers signed WR Russell Shepard to a three-year contract.

Shepard had an expanded pass game role with Vincent Jackson sidelined last year, catching 23 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers are a good landing spot without much behind Kelvin Benjamin. Shepard should still get the majority of his snaps on special teams.

Per a source, here are the terms for former Bucs wide receiver Russell Shepard, now with the Panthers: It's a three-year deal worth $10.5 million. It includes a $2 million signing bonus and $2.5 million guaranteed. He'll make $4 million in the first year.

Unfortunately, the gorge has been ravaged in recent years by several fires and ice storms. Still beautiful for sure, but it's going to take awhile for it to fully recover.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
