Two mocks (with/without trades)

So here are my ideal realistic mocks for this draft.  First without us trading any picks.

1.8 Leonard Fournette, RB - Not much more to be said. Best offensive prospect in the draft, only behind Garrett (maybe not even behind him) for overall top prospect.  Would instantly improve our offense.  Shula gonna Shula regardless, might as well give him the best possible tools so hopefully Cam can drag him along like he did in 2015.

2.40 Malik McDowell, DL - I had been thinking Obi here for a long time but McDowell could very well slide much further than his talent warrants. McDowell, unlike Allen, actually probably could transition to DE in a 4-3 in the NFL.  His weight is pretty close to what Greg Hardy played at when he was dominant, but McDowell is a couple inches taller.  Shows great burst and bend when going all out, but what might drop him is the impression that his motor switches off at times.  The potential is worth that risk in the 2nd though.

2.64 Teez Tabor, CB - We've started talking about him as a Panther around here a bit lately. Makes sense.  Fits the Rivera defense CB mold and wouldn't necessarily need to start or get huge minutes early while learning to adjust.  I'm not sold on Worley and regardless of how Worley turns out we'll need a third CB because Cap isn't a long term answer.

3.98 Carlos Henderson, WR - Sparkplug of a WR.  Obviously fits the annual Smitty-comparison role.  The difference between him and the Cookses and Tavon Austins of the past is that Henderson seems to have Smitty's fieryness while running after the catch. Would immediately fill the slot WR role we've been missing any talent at since....forever.

4.115 Pat Elflein, C - Mean roadgrader of a C, backup for a year or so and when Kalil retires should be a seamless transition.

5.152 Zane Gonzales, K - A kicker this early?  You're GD right. Gano may or may not have been affected by an injury all year but he's always been a "hold your breath" kicker. We gotta start looking to improve at the most underrated position on a football team.

6.192 TJ Logan, RB - Double dip RB because Gettleman doesn't like a draft without at least one double dip.  Dash to Fournette's Smash.  Might not last this long, but it's such a deep draft at RB I could easily see it happening.

7.233 Random LB/S/TE that will end up on the practice squad.

1.8 Fournette - No change here.

1.2x TRADE David Njoku, TE - We start collecting Miami TEs like its 2011 all over again.  Send our 2nd and comp in the 3rd  and 3rd next year to move into the mid to late 20s.  Pick #25 is worth 720 according to the chart, #40 is 500, the chart doesn't calculate comps but #96 is 116 so we'll call #98 114.  720 - 500 + 114 = 106 which seems fair enough value for next year's third. Maybe we're getting a slightly better deal here.

3.78 TRADE! Tanoh Kpassignon, DE - We trade down and get a guy that has huge boom or bust potential without a huge investment. Yea, Gettleman has never traded down but he's also never traded up into the first either. Gotta try to recoup some draft capital after how expensive the first trade was. Baltimore is the partner in this scenario so we get their 3rd and 4th for our last pick in the 2nd. #64 is worth 270, #78 is 200 and Baltimore's 4th is 72.  Points are about even.

4.115 Hopefully Henderson is still available here.  If not, then a CB or S if there's a good value one available.

4.122 Elflein and the rest of the draft follows the same picks as above.

I wouldn't bank on fournette being there at 8

Yea but it's realistic to expect him to. The only player that's unrealistic to believe could be there at 8 is Garrett. Everyone els is completely possible. And this is "ideal" :)
