This is why I really wanted Zay Jones. I just don't think that Funchess is going to emerge as that starter opposite KB that we want him to be. Jones could've been that guy. Hell, maybe Samuel will develop into that guy, but he's clearly destined for the slot role early on. That means that Funchess or one of these other JAGs will be starting.

When the dust settles I expect CJ to beat out Funchess for that number 2 spot. CJ has the speed and hands to be very nice complimentary number 2 guy in this type of offense, that'll feature a couple speed guys that must be account for.

Im the last one to pump up one of these JAGs but I actually think Charles Johnson might be the beneficiary/forgotten man on the field sometimes and have a solid year.

I hope you're right. I'm holding out little hope for Shepard and CJ2, but I'd absolutely love it if one of those guys ended up beating out Funchess.

Don't get me wrong I have zero hope for Shepard and if he's on the field then I'm concerned with Samuels development.

Ive got all my eggs in CJ's basket because, well... it's basically our only option

I also agree with everything said above too, I think me and you feel similar ways to Funchess and Samuel and you said it perfectly with the "boom or bust" comment

I'm thinking our WR depth will be KB, Funchess, Shepard, Samuel, CJ/Byrd

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
