hate to break it to you, bud... but there's only seven episodes...



I liked last night. The whole Sheeran than didn't bother me. At first I was like "Oh, Arya's about to off those dudes." Then they showed that common folk get absorbed into powerful people's wars and Arya felt a little bit of connection and grounding. I knew she was going to say she was going to Kings Landing to kill the queen before she actually said it, though, so it was hella predictable. But, I was glad they all laughed about it and didn't have to die.

Night King's scene was pretty cool and ominous, but a little out of place without much context. Bran's a little boring still and Meera's character has just become a device at this point.

Sansa is a lot like her mother, and I think she's doing a good job portraying that character.

The whole Euron scene was kinda blah. I really don't think they've done any of the Greyjoy's justice on the show. Curious to see what priceless artifact he's after, though.

I'm ready for Jaime to get away from Cersei for good, which is probably a nod to how well both are playing their parts.

Dany's still meh, but you have to get the feels with her arrival home. Kinda dumb that they had Dragonstone abandoned, though.

FWIW I think Sandor is easily my favorite show character at this point. I love any of his scenes, but the whole arc they are taking with him and the religion of R'hllor is just kinda bad IMHO. All his scenes are still the best to me. I'm holding out hope that he's Azor Ahai like I thought a while back, but I doubt they give it to him. At the very least, I do think he's going to have a bigger role when all is said and done.

Glad the show is back. 100% still the best show on TV.

Yeah they went a little overboard with that. I mean, we get it... his work there sucks.

All that was missing was a cheesy romcom pop song in the background..

I have missed the blurbs in the spoilers about it, so my untainted guesses would be:

A horn that will allow one to control a dragon

or

A dragon egg of her own

I lean more towards the horn, as he supposedly has one in the books. But I honestly don't know where the show is going at this point with that.

      Can we get to 9-8?

      A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.

      I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.

      Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
