2018 WRs

2017 showed a strong slot #3 WR class, overall it was as strong as a few previous classes

Christian Kirk (texas a&m)- Projected 1st, comparison Corey Coleman.  Scouts are starting to buzz on this kid.  Very explosive, some scouts calling him baby Beckham.

Equanimeous St Brown (Notre dame)- Projected 1st.  Big Athletic kid and one of the better route runners out there.

Calvin Ridley (bama)- hyped as the next Amari Cooper coming into filling his shoes.  Same size and athletic ability as Cooper was.  Ridley's hype has been rather quiet due to how heavy the run game has been since he's been there. Older, going to be turning 23 this year.

Courtland Sutton (SMU)- big athletic guy who dominates smaller dbs. Some said he was projected a borderline first round pick in the 2017 draft.

Paris Campbell- the next explosive WR to come out of Ohio State.  Didn't do anything last year but everyone hyping him up this year.

James Washington- overall solid WR. Dominated Chidobe Awuzie in the bowl game last year for 171 yards.

Auden Tate- big target, NFL comparison KB.  6'5 230 FSU staff feels they have anither KB on their hands.  His career has been very similar to KB's and they are expecting that same year 3 jump from him

DANTE PETTIS

Pettis is up there as well.  He is long thin with good hands.

He reminds a lot like Josh Doctson who the skins drafted in the first the other year.  Would like to see him add some more muscle.

I love Pettis, it'll be interesting to see how he does this year as the Huskies number 1 with Ross gone.

He's got great hands and is a very fluid/smooth athlete. His dad Gary played in the Majors for a long time and is currently the 3rd base coach for the Astros. So he knows all about professionalism and all that fun stuff.

Dante Pettis with ANOTHER punt return touchdown tonight. Also has a touchdown catch as well.

If Funchess doesn't figure his sh*t out this man would compliment KB and the rest of the group so well

my boy

He's looked good.

James Washington of OKSt is shooting to the top of my WR board

    • It can happen but it’s nothing like the NBA. One player doesn’t make the difference in the NFL that one player can in the NBA. Also, there are just not the same amount of trades and even opportunities. Because the NFL isn’t just one stud away, you don’t get a lot of opportunities like Miami did with Tua or the Jets did with Zach Wilson. Both teams got multiple 1sts for players they traded (Jets had 5 1sts in 2021-2022 and Miami had 5 1sts in 2020-2021) and both got top 5 picks to select a QB. They both made some good and bad picks but Miami turned Tua into multiple playoff appearances even though Tua isn’t elite. Wilson was just so bad that the Jets still sucked. We had our opportunity in 2022 where we would have had 6 1sts and 4 2nds in 2023-2025 and probably had a top 5 pick in 2023 or 2024 for a QB without trading up. Unfortunately, Fitterer didn’t have the foresight to realize a full rebuild was necessary and when a team offers you 2 1sts and a 2nd for a non-QB like Tunsil and Burns, you take it. One thing I wish trades had in the NFL that they have in the NBA is protected picks. A moron like Fitterer could have a top 5 protected pick so his terrible GMing doesn’t accidentally give the Bears the #1 overall pick because the moron Fitterer incorrectly thought we were 1 player away from the playoffs.
    • Anyone that believes getting a couple late season wins to end the season at 4-13 while picking 9th in each round, other than 2-15 with the 1st pick in each round is not being realistic.  It happens nearly every other year, Jags gave the browns a insane package to move from 2nd to 5th. If not for late season pointless/everyone forgets late season wins the Panthers would have gotten that franchise changing package. Not to mention Panthers would have had Herbo and Sewell in other years, but nope. Do I need to bring up da bears??? The goal is long term winning in order to make the playoffs, one season to tank could spark it with a Burrow that's gets sacked 60 times on the way to a SB.  I want to win as bad as anyone, but the second the Panthers are eliminated from playoff contention, the ONLY solution is to lose the remaining games to gain a better chance to never do that again. No other answer.
    • Looks like Dallas will be week 6..   It's likely going to be a late late late BYE week, ugh Last game of season @ tampa (warm-ish weather game, hopefully.  Well, not "cold", at least)
