there's 1,696 players in the NFL that make the 53 man roster.

96 puts him in the top 5% of the entire league.

Cam was one of the worst rated QB's in the NFL last year. Until he proves he can get back to his 2015 MVP form, I think the ranking is fair.

Yet ESPN ranked Andrew Luck, who almost led the NFL in turnovers despite playing a little more than half the season, no. 43 in 2016.

ESPN is full of poo.

His QBR most years is about 60 which is average / mediocre at best. Last year was god awful at 54.

2015 was 70. 2013 was 67 which is fairly good

80ish Great

70ish Good

60ish Average

50ish - Bad

Cam has got to be more consistent. Shula has to call better plays.

I guess all those power rushing TDs he got were just my imagination.

You can't use QBR  to evaluate Cam.   You combine his rushing and passing stats and no other QB compares

Citing made up ESPN bullshit like QBR is a solid way to make people realize you don't actually know anything about football.

All you got to do is look at the QBR rankings. The people at the top had great years. The people at the bottom had terrible years.

Passes the eye test.

QBR mainly exists to appease the unathletic white boys that can only throw a pass 15 yards.

Can tell you know little about QBR.

One of the main criticisms of QBR is that in over values rushing vs passing.

The main criticism of QBR is that it is a shitty way to evaluate a QB.

This isn't up for debate.

Lmao

Why is that?

Please enlighten us Grand Wizard.

I assume it is a fluke that the QBs who had the best years are at the top and the ones with the worst years are at the bottom?

Please break it down for us peasants lol

What is the best way / better way to evaluate a QB?

*Goes and grabs popcorn*

Depends entirely on the QB in question.

For the quarterbacks that just dink and dunk, and rarely throw the ball downfield, their QBR is going to look great.

For the quarterbacks that utilize the deep ball a lot more often in their offense, and contribute rushing, their QBR is going to look mediocre.

It's telling that this is the first and only metric you offered when discussing a QB like Newton.

In short, stop posting.

Do you have any "proof" for these claims?

Sources? References?

And nice dodge on ignoring what is a better metric for QB play.

In short, try harder.

It's funny you only mentioned guys like Rodgers and Brady who generally stick to short to intermediate passes, and heavily utilize speedy receivers who can get a good amount of YAC.

We haven't had that luxury in our offense much until now with the addition of a guy like CMC.

You can't fully or honestly evaluate a QB with only one metric dude. It's not a one size fits all. Especially not one like Cam who does so many things for his offense that often go unnoticed. This is what I've been trying to get through to you.
