I agree. Thinking Williams got the 3rd star simply as a "welcome back" after having a solid game at both ends. Darling is absolutely the starting goalie after that performance though. Guy played out of his mind. We just can't give teams such good looks. I do not fault Darling on any of the goals tonight.

Because he did such a subtle move and because Faulk ended up stuck behind Darling before anybody. Had that not occurred, I think they would have given the call to us. Faulk has to not do that to begin with. Darling was reaching his posts all night. But it is what it is. Hopefully that situation gets worked on because we can't have those kinds of issues all season late in games when we have a 1 goal lead.



The crowd was great to see tonight. Seemed like a packed house and everybody was into it. We need that all season. You could tell the players were feeling the energy in the third period when everybody started picking their game up. We can't have this crowd on opening night and only when we are winning. The fairweather fans need to weed themselves out and we need to start getting people watching hockey. I seriously want to just start making threads in the main forum...lol

He laid on Darling , in the crease, and got a goal with .03 left. Pure BS, but we got the W. Next.

That game had a little bit of everything, fun one to be at.

Peters said the boys were cramping so that's possibly why we looked sluggish through the first two periods.

Usually we lose that type of game. Glad we're off and running!

Also hopefully we play well enough we can get enough people for an individual game thread, that would be cool.

Definitely some empty seats there (predominantly center ice lowers) but the crowd was into it in the third. Real quiet during the first and second but once the boys were flying around in the 3rd it got pretty loud.

I also mention Justin Williams without a doubt got the loudest cheer from the fans last night during player intros. 

Followed by Faulk, Skinner, Aho, and Slavin.

Canes fall to CBJ 2-1 in OT but secure a point in the standings and currently hold the second wild card spot.

A couple of notes: Trevor Carrick was called up with TVR going to IR with a concussion and Skinner is playing his 500th game today.
