Player's Reactions to KB Trade

I don't do tweeter but people are posting twits of players reactions to the trade.

The one I'm seeing the most is from Thomas Davis.

Quite frankly I really don't want to hear it. It was his selfishness that got Gman fired and brought back Hurney. So I really don't want to hear the crying from him or anyone else at this point.

I love TD, don't get me wrong but yeah this is what happens when you think of personal issues and not what is best for the organization.

I'll take Thomas Davis over Gettleman any fugging day of the week. TD has done more for this team than Gettleman ever did.

This is Gettleman's roster. Gettleman was good at one thing - not paying people. Problem is, you can't build a team if you let everyone go with no replacements (see: 2014 receivers, 2016 cornerbacks) - and he wanted to do it again with Olsen and Thomas Davis.

Not to mention he didn't do sh*t to fix the line problems for four years, thinking Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, Michael Oher, or Matt Kalil would be acceptable - after, of course, he ran our best lineman (Gross) out of town.

This is Gettleman's roster.

Stop spreading this nonsense, clown.  TD is not responsible for Gettleman getting fired and JR bringing back Hurney.  It is all on JR and he is an absolute joke of an owner.  The whole league is just laughing at us

I don't see how not wanting our GM to play hardball with fuging Thomas Davis and Greg Olsen is the same as wanting Hurney back so he could do something equally stupid.

Dave Gettleman was a package deal. He was good at getting out of cap hell and decent at finding role players, but he had a huge ego and felt like his scheme was so great he could replace anyone on the team.

Problem is, it never worked.

2014, cuts all our receivers and forces Jordan Gross into retirement. Surprise surprise, it didn't work; it took us a year to fix the receiver issue and not surprisingly we still haven't fixed the tackle problem with Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, Michael Oher, or Matt Kalil.

2016, cuts Josh Norman and overcompensates by drafting 3 corners. One (Sanchez) is a bust, Worley is fine and Bradberry is good - but with Norman, our defense would have been so much better and maybe could have swung some games.

Now this year he let Ted Ginn (who Cam really trusts) go and rolls with Curtis Samuel. That has failed so far. Then on top of that he wants to basically cut ties with Olsen and Davis, again with no replacements.

The guy was a moron when it came to retaining personnel. This roster is Dave Gettleman's and it's moronic to act like we'd be 8-0 or something with him as GM right now.

How do you conveniently skip a 15-1 Super Bowl run lmao?

I'd ask the same thing to those so critical of Shula and Rivera.

The Huddle hive mind is that anything good happened because of Gettleman, and anything bad happened because of Shula and Rivera. That's moronic. And now the hive mind is that anything bad happens because of Hurney, Shula, and Rivera with Gettleman as some unimpeachable saint. It's idiotic.

Gettleman built this team and this is what we have. It's not on Hurney. Coaching is on Rivera and Shula, but personnel - the glaring holes at tackle (for four years now), receiver, cornerback - that's all on Gettleman.

I was born into being a Panther. As a small kid until now I have kept my self from being surprised at the Panthers front office.. which has to be one of the worst in football.

But we just traded our first round pick, number 1 WR, rare playmaker, for a 3rd round and a 7th which means poo for the panthers.

Where is our 7th pick right now from last year? Oh poo just starting a new football legacy, our 3rd rounder? He stands on the sidelines.

Our next 3rd and 7th pick? Will they even be on the team at this time next year?

oh yeah Funchess is our number 1 WR.

Gman was the one who believed having two slow 6'5" targets would be the answer to Cam's "occasional" high throws.

the dude made some horrible draft picks, penny pinched in free agency, and had the biggest ego in the world.

he's the sole reason we went 6-10 last year and is one of the main reasons why we haven't looked so hot this year.

Rare playmaker? He's not good, and we weren't resigning him... So getting a third and a 7th was more then we could ask for, see ya Benjamin.
