Who else to root for in Week 17

NAS

Bears to beat the Vikings

Bucs over Saints

49ers over Rams

If the Vikins, Saints and Rams lose while the Panthers win, the Panthers would win the NFC South and take the No. 2 seed.

It’s a long shot, I know, but it would be awesome to get a bye and play at home.

Would be an amazing outcome and that's the type of luck ATL or SEA in recent years have gotten... It's our turn now. Planning to go to a playoff game this year and would much prefer to fly to Charlotte than to New Orleans... And if we somehow got the Rams, no chance I'd be able to fly to LA.

root for the easiest road to the NFCCG..........

Might be easier with a road game.

I will root for bye and home field 100% but if we wind up 5 seed which is most likely, you are right that it wouldn't be that hard. Make it past the Aints or Rams and then we'd likely have the Eagles without Wentz next (assuming Seahawks/Falcons are one and done which is very likely). Big factor in our favor this year regardless of seeding is our playoff experience compared to the other 4 threats. We have a ton and none of those other teams have real playoff experience in the past 4 years or so.

If we do not think we match up well with the Saints, we root for the 49ers to win against the Rams. Why? Literally every scenario where the Rams win have us playing the Saints the week after. If the 49ers win, we could play any other team other than the Eagles, depending on what else happens.

Also, the Rams can still clinch a first round bye and will not rest anyone.

Yeah we root for 49ers regardless. Every scenario is better for us if the Rams lose. Plus the Jimmy G hype machine will be quite entertaining if he hasn't lost going into next season.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
