Cam was outside of the tackle box. (Pics)

The camera angle changes during the play, but as you can see, pre-snap Williams outside shoulder is approximately 3 yards from the outside of the hashmark.  Cam appears to be about 3.5 to 4 yards outside of the hashmark when he releases the ball.  That isn't even considering whether there were receivers nearby, although there were.

it's honestly really close. even if it was a reviewable play which it wasn't, i doubt the refs overturn it.

whether there was a receiver in the area, that's still up for debate.

the refs simply saw cam on the verge of being sacked as he chucked it out of bounds and that's pretty much what drew the flag.

Historically, the refs have swallowed the whistle for a lot more in playoff games.  They generally don't want to be responsible for a game's outcome, unless it involves us apparently.

And again, the camera angle makes the area between Cam and the hash appear shorter than it would have with the pre-snap angle and it still looks conclusive to me.  And regardless of what I think, according to the broadcast and Olsen's own account, the official responsible for making that call said Cam was out of the pocket.  These pics just confirm that.

So why the hell did they call it if it wasn't clear and is clearly questionable.  BS call.

like i said, cam was on the verge of getting sacked and proceeded to chuck the ball out of bounds. usually that alone draws the refs attention for a potential intentional grounding. couple that with the fact they didn't see a receiver in the area, they threw the flag.

whether he was outside the tackle box or not, as mentioned above, it was pretty close. could have gone either way imho
