  1. 1. Acquire Doug Martin in FA if he is available ?

It seems Bucs might part away with their franchise RB with 2 years of disappointing season & of course having a younger RB by the way of Auburns Peyton Barber ready to take over.

Martin is still a talented player with a lot of Juice left in the tank w/ similar build & skillset to J-Stew that allows him to fit perfectly into Panthers' scheme.

What do y'all think of this move if Bucs depart w/ him? Maybe a similar situation when Ginn left Panthers to Saints, cause if one thing Panthers struggled with was having a running game besides CAM.

Perhaps one of the biggest questions surrounding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason is whether or not the franchise will be parting ways with lead running back Doug Martin after back-to-back disappointing seasons or if he’ll be given another opportunity to redeem himself in 2018.

The Buccaneers gave Martin a very high-dollar contract extension following his 1,402-yard explosive campaign in 2015 when he finished second in the NFL in rushing yards behind Adrian Peterson. Therefore, if general manager Jason Licht and the franchise decided to cute Martin then he would be due $6.75 million next season, per Spotrac, but can be released and it would not count a single dollar against the team’s cap.

Martin has certainly struggled to live up to this team’s high expectations for the past two years and the running game has surely taken a hit because of it. So, the Bucs could throw in the towel with Martin and possibly pursue a free agent running back in the draft that could upgrade the Bucs’ struggling running game or pursue a young, talented running back in the upcoming draft. Nevertheless, the Bucs will need to make a decision about Martin sooner rather than later and hopefully one that will work out in their favor this year.

He's shot. The guy has averaged less than three yards per carry in each of the last two seasons and makes Stew look durable in comparison. The Bucs would be insane NOT to cut him.

I think it had to do more with the Bucs being Bucs.

If you watch his 2017 tape he still has the speed, quickness & power unlike J-Stew who is all power. Its great for shortyardage but not if he is gonna be a co-RB.

He's missed 13 games in the last two season. That has nothing to do with the Bucs being the Bucs. He only has 6 TDs in the last two seasons combined.

I wouldn't pay the guy a dime over veteran minimum and I wouldn't promise him anything other than a shot in camp to make the roster.

Yes thats why we let the GM do the deal or ron this year?  Panthers are not gonna overpay him but a little more than vet minimum is required for proven talent. P.S. J-Stew is getting millions  and is far worse, its time to cut old baggages unless he takes VET MINIMUM.

The best case would be to draft a RB this year.
