This defense is absolutely terrible

I have no idea how you can run the same shitty zone over and over and expect it to yield different result. There's a giant hole in the same spot every single time and its the same throw to the same spot every single time. You might as well not send the team on the field on 3rd downs. And its been this way all season going back to preseason when that shitty zone got called in on the goal line its fuging stupid.

Horrible conservative game calling on offense gave them the game in the 3rd. We never go for the throat and it showed tonight. Up f*cking 10 points and just decided to not score anymore cause of the risk.

You are intelligent.

Don't expect too many responses from FOOLS who can't see that the Defense stopped them in Overtime, and then the offense didn't try to do a thing.

If you are fortunate enough to get the ball second in overtime, and you run three plays into the teeth of the opposing defense, to COMPLAIN about your defense getting beat after you go three and out on THREE PLAYS INTO THE TEETH OF THE DEFENSE, then you are a shortsighted fool.

Our D is a liability. Secondary is somehow worse than the D-line.

The defense sucks, period. Eli had all day back there to go through his progressions multiple times before choosing a target.

The Turd has been squeeking by just because the talent we have has been able to overcome his stupidity, terrible game planning, and lack of adjustment during the games. He is our #1 liability and needs to go. We have too much talent to play as poorly as we do on defense.

Like you said, our secondary has been lit up all year. You can't run a zone coverage defense without giving pressure on the QB. We keep running this style defense and we've been lit up all year from any QB that has a decent arm. We're still a good team, but as always our D cordinator is TERRIBLE.

The defense didn't do sh*t in ot.

The Giants stopped themselves on the first drive each receiver was wide open as usual but eli over threw them.

I hope this seriously opens some eyes.

It's not like this soft coverage hasn't been going on for several seasons. The only eyes it really opens up are the ones on the opposing teams

Threads like this are the reason I HATE the huddle for 24 hours after a loss.

You are so emotional that reason and logic become an afterthought.

You're all quick to throw the secondary under the bus, but forget that we had someone run for over 215 yards on us tonight. We know how the Bucs felt now. If Kemo is in there tonight, this is a different game. His value to the defense should be apparent right now.

I agree that the soft zone coverages have been a problem - I've been saying that for weeks.

But we did get 3 sacks on Manning. Playing with the defensive line we had tonight is like leaving the secondary hanging out to dry.

Losing Kemo killed us we needed him bad against the giants o-line. I have no doubt if he were in they don't get a 300 yard game. We didn't take advantage of the tipped passes or the Beasons dropped int. Gamble played like a bitch. But at least we are in the playoffs and honestly this team needs to get back to being road warriors anyway. Plus we could still get a home game, maybe a buy.

    • That's a serious word salad. Anywho. Both Justin Fields and Daniel Jones have always had something Bryce Young does not possess. The necessary physical tools.
    • What it feels like is a horrible source reality. What a person sees is a horrible source for reality. Stats can be easily misunderstood because because they are interpretive and contextual. Very large data sets with dozens more more connected variables are difficult to deal with and understand correctly. Throw in confirmation bias, abstraction, emotions and the way human brains are wired make it really easy to roll with eye tests and intuition. The negativity for Bryce was really high and most were ready to trade that asset for peanuts until the second half of last year when he began to play much, much better.  Hope sprang eternal.  The Saints game last year.  Going toe to toe and almost beating the two teams who went to the Superbowl last year.  Beating the Falcons when the Falcons had everything to play for.  Haters started adjusting their tune. Fan and media starting saying it looks like Carolina has found their franchise QB.   The real answer was and is, maybe. If he plays great on Sunday the anti-Bryce crowd will find other excuses or say it's only one game. If he plays horrible, it'll be more of the "I told you so. I knew it before he was drafted." (which is beyond stupid since there there is not an actual way to know if a player will be successful in the NFL or not.) I'll leave with a simple example.  Of the initial list of incompletions due to WR error, Jarod Goff has 0.  He was 31 for 39 at an almost 80% completion percentage.  His WR's much has balled out. Except when you add the facts that only 11 of those passes were to WRs.  14 were to RB's and 6 to the TE.  Gibbs has 10 of those receptions and he's elite so that explains why we shouldn't put much stock into this stat.  But then we see that Gibbs also set an NFL record with the least number of yards (31) for any player with at least 10 receptions in a game. Fun stuff! Oh yeah.  From week 1 how many people had Justin Fields and Daniel Jones playing at elite levels?
    • How do you reconcile with the fact that the most competent and productive the Panthers passing offense has looked at any point between 2023 and 2025 were both games where Andy Dalton (who is completely washed and terrible) started? 680 passing yards and 5 touchdowns in two games. And one of those games was with Frank Reich as the head coach. This team needs competent QB play.
