Should Jerry Richardson be in the War Room?

I have been fully expecting the "investigation" into the shenanigans old JR is accused of just may come to a conclusion right around the time of the owners meeting.  I would be willing to bet that the report will be a factor in the behind closed doors negotiations.

I've gone back and forth on what to expect.

General consensus has been expecting a "yeah, he's guilty so here's a slap on the wrist; now go away" just so they can put it all behind them.

If he screws with them and pisses somebody off though, who knows?

Just depends on how much the old bastard wants to protect his legacy.

Will he go quietly into the night?

I'm secretly hoping all the dirty laundry is aired.

Time for a reset from top to bottom in the FO.

The biggest deciding factor for me in stories like this tends to be what do the (alleged, to satisfy the sticklers) victims want.

Do they want him exposed, humiliated, forced to answer for his sins, etc.  Or do they just want this all to go away so they can move on.

My guess (and it would be just that) would be that option two is the more popular choice.

I want to see the proof. I'm a skeptic. Don't believe anything you read or hear and only half of what you see. One of our salesman lost his family , his home, everything....because some student made accusations that were later proven false. Too late to salvage his life. The NFL has a freak'n coke head (Irsay) for an owner and another (Haslam) that should be up on fraud charges and they want to excommunicate someone for having a "jeans" day.

There was also the racist thing.

To be fair, if the accusations are true (and SI made a pretty good case) then Richardson has been a colossal creep to his female employees.

And realistically, the guy's 81 and is gonna come out of these with a couple billion dollars, so...

If true you are correct. My issue is we payout very month to some dickhead that thinks we did or didn't do something. Because its CHEAPER. I lose my mind. Screw'em. My former CEO stopped that poo. Fought everyone, everytime. After 5-6 years the vultures learned he would fight you if he was right. Assholes couldn't understand why he wouldn't settle. The damned threats of suing damned near disappeared. The new CEO says its cheaper to settle. F that. We are back to same poo. Everyone sees a checkbook and wants some.

I can understand, but they're not really a--holes if it actually happened.

Honestly, the non-disclosure agreements at least have the potential to hurt the team.  League policy requires those be reported, and these weren't.  That conceivably can result in the punishment of the team, not Richardson.

Hoping that doesn't happen, and don't ultimately believe it will, but the possibility that we could lose draft picks over Richardson being a creep sucks.

Valid. Some more than others :)

For my part, I actually do believe Richardson is guilty of everything he's been accused of. I base that partially on the evidence SI presented, but also on conversations 1 with a guy that used to work there.

Others believe differently, and that's everyone's right.

I'd add this: Guilty or not, Richardson isn't good enough as an owner. He's meddled way too much and he promotes people to jobs they're not qualified for because they're loyal. Loyalty to him matters more than actual competence at your job, and there's no clearer example of that than Marty Hurney.

I'm hoping for better from the next owner.

I think everyone should just turn a blind eye and let Jerry go out his way.  He manned up and decided to sell the team.  Found a good new owner for us.  He brought the NFL to the Carolinas.  This story about JR is obviously bad.  He didn't drag it out.  He decided to sell.  He's old...let him have one last ride in the war room and say goodbye to something he built.  No one should talk about it...or acknowledge it...just let it run it's course and move on.  By TC it won't matter.
