Both are being jerks about their teams drafting young quarterbacks.

With Flacco, it's that he seemingly refuses to say a word even acknowledging that it happened. Roethlisberger, on the other hand, is saying plenty...and sounding like an ass in the process (not exactly new territory for him).

There had been word that the Panthers might take a mid-round quarterback in this draft, but it didn't happen. I suspect if it had, Newton would have been more gracious about it.

In Pittsburgh and Baltimore though, looks like they're set to have real interesting training camps.

Didn't the Steelers get Dobbs last year? I don't know what the big deal is with them drafting a late round qb this year, and Flacco is a dumbass if he thought he would hold that spit forever, he hasn't done poo in years, his play is declining every year, some could say it's lack of weapons, but his turnovers and hot decision making is what's wrong.

Yeah, he has a Super Bowl ring. So does Trent Dilfer, with the same team.

Exactly!!!! I've been saying that for years, Dilfer and Brad Johnson got the easiest rings for sub par play I've ever seen

Regarding Dobbs, Roethlisberger has been talking up the fact that the team did this twice in two years. He frames it as "so did they screw the pick last year or did they screw it this year?"

Guy is as complete a douchebag as I've ever seen.

Yea, he is in that stage of talking bout retirement.... Curious if it's so they let him stay haha

To be fair, it's not like we didn't already know Roethlisberger was an a--hole. Pittsburgh has chosen to put up with him, although the story at one point was that a significant portion of his teammates hated his guts.

He has no self-awareness whatsoever.

 Im with you. I agree he's is and always was an asshole. At this stage in his career, he knows that this is his team. 

I do agree with his notion that you need to make sure you're mentally ready before taking someone under your wing. That is what i don't have a problem with. Problem is its coming from Bens mouth.

Rudolph said he doesn't expect Roethlisberger to mentor him, and I believe he meant it in a nice way as in, "it's okay dude you don't have to do that" Roethlisberger took it to mean that he thought he was so good he didn't need any help, which coming from his frame of reference probably makes sense.

Rudolph is, by all accounts, a great kid. I doubt you could have two more polar opposites if you tried.

Steelers may have gotten the steal of the draft. CBS Sports had Rudolph as their top rated QB. I was surprised he didn't go in the 1st round.

Flacco has always been mediocre. Had one above average season when they won the super bowl. And the NFL gave it to Ray Lewis.

Peyton  with Denver also. He wasn't even good as rookie Peyton.:shades:

      Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.

      I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
