Basically it does this,

Charlotte pretty much sheds a year off of Batum's contract for getting Deng while at the same time gets Lonzo and Danny Green. Say what you want about Lonzo but there was a reason he went #2 overall. He can play and he just needs time. Also if Lavar wants to get involve let Jordan G-check him. Hornets effectively starts over and trys to build again.

Spurs get a young player in Ingram who seems to be improving (maybe not to superstar levels like we once though), and they get Batum who fits the Sprus system perfectly and would probably get the Boris Diaw treatment.

Lakers not only get Kawhi but now gets Walker as well. This will more than attract Lebron to LA which will then form a new super team and will still have Randle and Kuzma to booth (but realistically one of them probably will get traded).

No way the Spurs trade Kawhi for a horrible contract and Ingram. That is horrible value. They shouldn't take on salary for Kawhi.

Would you take on salary for Kemba?

It looks like Phoenix is going all in and stop the tank. They just signed their veteran presence in Trevor Ariza for a 1 year deal.  They also desperately need a PG and are loaded at SG/SF. They have Booker (untouchable), Josh Jackson, TJ Warren and Mikal Bridges. Too many young players at the same position.

Kemba + Marvin Williams + Julyan Stone

for

Dragan Bender(Or Marquise Criss) + Josh Jackson (Or Mikal Bridges) + Jared Dudley

We get a PF that hopefully turns into what we hoped Frank would have turned into. We would get a high potential SG or SF. We flip Marvin Williams into an expiring Jared Dudley.

Suns would have Kemba, Booker, Jackson or Bridges, Ariza, Ayton as starters. They would still have Warren, Bender or Criss, Knight and Marvin off the bench. That would be a very solid club.

Hornets would be in tank mode but with several young high potential players to build around for the future: Monk, Josh Jackson or Mikal Bridges, Miles Bridges, Bender or Criss.

Thoughts on values?

not totally out there...id rather give up mkg or frank than marvin...marvin can be a great vet off the bench

Only reason I wouldn't give up Frank is bc he is an expiring. I originally thought of MKG but they have so many wings, it didn't make sense to add another wing in the trade.

    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
    • only 1 QB in the history of mankind has managed a winning record with his opportunities in the David Tepper era.    Bring in PJ.   He has NFL tools.  He will at least be entertaining if called upon.  How is that not better than Andy.  *PJ Walker bandwagon is back up now that it is....not...time for for the percolator.
