Last year, or first year?

Definitely Tepper's team. People underestimate the effect an owner can have, even if they aren't getting directly involved in football decisions. There will be off the field issues or potential disciplinary actions against players that Tepper would be involved in. Besides, there's still a 53-man roster to cut down to and Tepper could technically have the final say on any player's fate.

I agree that an owner will bring a new energy but I don’t believe Tepper will have any say in our roster. He is a strong believer of putting the right people in the right places and letting them do their job.

This is obviously Tepper steam but the players we are fielding this year are the brain trust of Jerry Richardson’s front office. Until Tepper hires a new President and makes a move at GM the traces of JRs regime will be all over the place.

If if we win the Super Bowl it’s Teppers and him and Cam will hoist it but deep down I’ll always wonder.

I hate to say it, but again barring some major overhaul, if we were to win the Super Bowl this season the majority of the credit at the owner level would logically have to go to Jerry Richardson.

Yep.  Unless Tepper steps in as intrem GM and makes lots of ballsy decisions it will take years to completely claim the direction (and subsequent successes) of the team.

So if the Panthers win the Superbowl, the massive workplace culture change after Richardson was gone has nothing to do with it. Got it.

I don't know if I'd say "years" but definitely this season at least.

It's been frequently argued on this board that the Buccaneers owed Tony Dungy a Super Bowl ring, and to be clear I agree with that idea.

So yeah, despite how I feel about Richardson personally, i don't believe you can rightly remove his name from any success or failure that the team has this season.

Next season, that changes.

I believe he said majority not all the credit.  But what impact does the front office culture change do to football operations in your opinion?

How much does office culture actually have to do with on field product?

Jerry Richardson was still the owner in 2015.

Hope to see some large ones in the off-season. We are unusually blessed to have a good core right now is the only reason I’d say years but with a new GM and a full off season and multiple other changes I’m comfortable with Tepp getting all the credit.

If Phil from accounting feels more comfortable reporting Linda from ticket sales for making eyes at him during lunch break Cam will throw for 4K yards.  Fact.

Barring the hire of a team president, we'll most likely go into (and most likely also finish) the season with zero football moves having been made by David Tepper.

I'm as happy as anybody that Tepper is now in charge and I think it bodes well for the future of the team, but let's be real. The team isn't going to magically change overnight.

Next year and going forward, we can start talking about it as Tepper's team. At least for the moment though, for better or worse it's still the same organization that Jerry Richardson built.

That culture permeates to the players too. It's obvious how much more outgoing Cam has been on social media this offseason, way more than years past. And 2015 was long before the creepiness of Richardson had been outed as well, but who knows who knew how much and when. I just think it's ridiculous to say this is still the Richardson era even though he's not the owner anymore. He's gone. If the team wins a Superbowl, he doesn't get a ring.

No, he doesn't get a ring, though I'm sure  if that happens some folks on here will suggest he should (and I probably know who).

Again though, there's no magic switch flipped. The players, coaches and football people still are who they are. Will it be different working for Tepper? Sure, but I still don't see that being enough of a factor to say it'll make a difference in this season's outcome.

I'd add that the problem with the notion that the office culture permeates all the way down to the football product is that the football people have universally said they had absolutely no idea that any of that stuff was even going on.

Are they lying?
