Canes Make A Flurry Of Moves

they've called up Nic Roy, a 21 year old 2015 4th rounder.  Big physical guy that can score and should be fun to watch.  Been great for Charlotte this year.  Darling is making a conditioning start tonight for Checkers and should be back with the Canes by Friday, maybe even starting in net.

The goal is to get to 98 points and the Canes are right on track, currently at a 106 point pace.

It will be interesting to see what we look like once Rask is back.

Ferland - Aho - Teravainen

Foegele - Staal - Williams

McGinn - Rask - ???

Martinook - Wallmark - Svechnikov

I’d be interested so see what Zykov and a 3rd could get us trade wise to try and find that 3RW. Maybe something around Puljujarvi.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Canes made a move for Nylander, though I’d rather not break up the defense I think Fleury deserves to be with the big club and if that means Faulk (and a draft pick) have to go then so be it.

No way we get rid of Faulk.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
