Trades? Who's available on the Panthers? Who do you want from other teams? What would it cost?

I heard the Jags were entertaining offers for Dante Fowler Jr. If thats the case I feel we should at least be in the discussion for him, could cost us a 2nd but well worth it imo.

No chance in hell I consider a 2nd for a guy in the last year of his contract.

I wouldn't trade Funchess. He's been our best WR.

If we are entertaining trading Funchess we better be looking to replace him with another big WR. We can't lose that type of WR for Cam. He still overthrows quite a bit.

There is absolutely no way the Jags get a 2nd for Fowler. Maybe a 4th-5th. The guy has quit on his team multiple times, and spent more time off than on the field.

Could trade some late picks for guys who will be cheap and still on a rookie deal.could swipe Conley or Karl Joseph from the raiders and both would be relatively cheap. Fowler if he is actually avavlibe for a 4th, and since snacks Is off the market, another run stuffing dt would be nice, maybe swap Butler for one and a late pick like 6th or 7th.

Either one move move would help the team.

I have a theory on Cam overthrows. I don't think a big WR solves the problem. Cam throws high relative to the target so it doesn't matter if the WR is 5 feet tall or 7 feet tall. It is always going to come in a little high because he has a tendency for the ball to go a couple feet higher than he aims. It has also become much less of a problem in recent years and we probably have our overall smallest set of WRs in the last 5 years.

We were all wrong about Cam needing big, tall WRs so that is what we went and got for him but that ended up being a huge mistake because what he really needs are guys that get separation, not guys who can go up high or are big targets since big targets are in general much less fleet footed and route technicians than the smaller guys with lower centers of gravity. The big guys actually require more precision in the passing game because they have less separation so the ball needs to be thrown to a particular spot so the DB can't make a play on it. Cam has been at his best with Steve Smith and Ted Ginn as his WR1's. That's part of the reason I'm excited about DJ and Curtis Samuel being our top 2 WR's.

He is also in the last year of his rookie contract and just because he is mildly productive young DE will cost a ton to re-sign. A 2nd is way, way too much for him.

I could be wrong, but I think the difference in that and the number I quoted from Spotrac are IR salaries. I'll have to check because I honestly don't know.

It includes IR, we have over 17million on IR right now. IR always takeaway from the CAP. You still get paid on IR.

Yeah I think OTC has Mahon and Obada left off our number, though, citing the top 51 rule that applies to the offseason. During the regular season, the top 51 rule doesn't apply IIRC. So, take the figure you quoted from OTC and subtract Mahon and Obada's numbers (a little over $800,000) and you get closer to Spotrac's number.
