Why Rivera is almost certainly not going to fire a coordinator during the season

The fact that the only outside hire at any coordinator position under Rivera has been Tuirner is crazy with the amount of promotions there have been during his tenure. I wouldn’t even call Norv an outside hire since they worked together before. Rivera’s biggest fault is that he prefers familiarity. So if Washington isn’t fired for this poo show, Rivera and his whole staff should be if they do not at least make it to the NFCC. Point blank period!

Can't imagine a cut, until we are close to or completely eliminated from playoffs.  Then maybe something to save face for Ron.

However, we get smoked twice by NO, and again by ATL, and I'll be at the front of the line calling for his firing...cause he damn sure ain't gonna resign.

All that aside, the Panthers have fired a coordinator mid-season, what, once? I know we have a new owner but Tepper isn't going to call Rivera and say "it's you or Washington."

Something is going to change, Washington is in the hot seat.   Except for the first half of the Tampa Bay game, I'd say the defense has take a step back from previous years.    Dline sucks...who is the new dline coach?  Dropping Peppers back in coverage...jeese, Greenbay did that with him.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

Washington was basically demoted back to his old job.

The language might not say "fired" but the result is the same. It's basically like saying you "borrowed" something that you stole.

I said he won't fire a coordinator. You look at the staff on the website, and his title hasn't changed. His responsibilities, sure, but I didn't say "Why Rivera Is Almost Certainly Not Going To Take Responsibilities Away from A Coordinator"

That's a reach.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
