He was bad between 09-11 and rightfully got fired.

People seem to forget his good years. Those years put him way ahead of Gettleman. We got legends after legends. The closest thing to a legend in DG's tenure is Short and he stinks. CMC maybe.

Imagine if people didn't talk Gettleman out of trading for Fournette. Yikes.

Glad Cam and company convinced him to draft McCaffrey.

If you want people to actually believe you're this stupid, go ahead. I've said before I don't think you are, but you're taking sh-tposting to a whole new level here.

Hey I have sources.

Except those sources don't say what you want them to, and I know full well when you're just trying to be an ass.

So tell me this, kid. Should Marty Hurney and around Rivera be kept in charge here? are you willing to trust them with our future?

Gimme a straight yes or no.

It says that Gettleman wanted to trade for an inferior running back. Gettleman was in love with Fournette. Cam knew that would be a terrible draft pick.

Rivera can kick rocks. I'd keep Hurney for one more season. 3 GOOD rookie contributors is no small feat. I wouldn't mind if he gets fired though.

It says he wanted to trade up. Not that he was "in love".

Gettleman also got offers to trade out of the number eight spot. He turned them down.

And if you check your history, you'll find that Marty Hurney wanted Laurence Maroney over DeAngelo Williams. He also took DeShaun Foster over Clinton Portis, Amini Silatolu over Cordy Glenn and Bruce Nelson over...anybody.

Bottom Line: We won with Gettleman way better than we ever did with Hurney. Gettleman is gone, and a year after being gifted a playoff quality roster,  Hurney turned it to sh-t.

He's not good enough, and if you want to give him more time, all you're really doing is giving him more time to prove just how much worse he can make it.

It's time to move on.

I know you're a prideful man or woman but - can you truthfully say he turned it to shiit? Which positions got worse? Which got better?

So 3 bad drafts in a row didn't contribute to this season?

This.  Bad drafting sets a team back years.  Gentleman was a terrible drafter, even worse than Hurney back in the day.  The best draft this team has seen in 5 years was this year.

The position that got most significantly worse was the win-loss record.

There are spots that improved (receiver) spots that got worse (defensive tackle) spots that we thought we're getting better but now don't look so good (secondary) and other spots that stayed about the same.

This is the kind of thing that happens just about every year with every roster. Tou can try the "highlight reel" approach but it's the overall result that matters.

Bottom Line: Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney are a toxic combo, and they both need to go.

Scot wants us to bring Dickson, Coleman, Worley, Benjamin, Shepard back.

See, this is where you lose, posting stupid sh-t like this.

Yeah, that 2017 draft sure didn't get us much of anything, did it? :eyeroll:

I'm not sure what website you get your roster info from,  but win-loss isn't a football position.

Only position that got worse is DT. Jackson is better than Worley, Reid is better than Coleman. Best receiving group since the days of Smitty and Moose. Coaching and age is why this team is failing.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
